Stopped by this little BBQ shack today, and am absolutely floored by the quality of their food. Had rib tips (daily special), baked beans, and chicken chili. Everything was exceptional. Side selection is pretty basic, but delicious. Will definitely be returning.

Stopped here on a whim because the freeways were nothing but accidents …. tried to take the back roads home and stumbled upon this place..from the outside it looked like it was a good small BBQ joint- Well I was a little disappointed that I didn’t smell any barbecue smoke when I pulled into the parking lot or walked inside.

This place is one of the best-kept secrets of Ann Arbor. Reasonable prices and great BBQ! I lived in Texas for a while, and most Michigan BBQ is pretty disappointing in comparison. This place is one of the few exceptions. I am not a big fan of BBQ sauce, so I love that the brisket and pulled pork are served with sauce on the side. Both are flavorful enough to eat on their own without any additional sauces or toppings. The ribs, also, are outstanding. I only wish this place was a bit closer to town, but it’s not as long a drive as you’d think.

I love Rons. I love the BBQ here so much they are catering my wedding. Ron is friendly and has creative ideas. The prices are reasonable and only become more reasonable in bulk. Keep in mind no BBQ is cheap so reasonable is the best word used. Portion sizes are always more than enough and there has been nothing I’ve tried that I haven’t liked. The sauces are yummy too!

Pulled pork and brisket is incredible. Happy to support local family owned business. This is quality BBQ. No frills, but best meat and sauce I have had in a long time. I’m a Navy veteran and have tried different BBQ all over the place and this is at the top of my list!

Simply amazing! I’m writing this review same day just got done eating 5/28. Had Ribs,Chicken,Rib Tips, multiple sides and sauces. ALL GREAT. For those of you thinking that you can get better BBQ somewhere else I suggest you think again. I waited patiently this evening for over a half hour but after eating here I will from here on out wait however long it takes. Kudos Rons Roadside! Truly impressed! See you soon!

I love this place! It’s the real deal. They have 3 sauces – KC style BBQ, Mustard, and a Vinegar-Pepper sauce (Like Mrs. Martha’s in TN). The pulled pork is spot on and the brisket is solid. The fixins are good too, get the ‘slaw, it complements the smokey meat very well. I stop by whenever I am passing by on Pontiac Trail to grab at least a sandwich. They have some outside seating on picnic tables, but beware of the bees during the hot times, the are not aggressive, but I think they like the KC BBQ sauce. If you have never been, you owe it to yourself to at least try it. They are open for lunch, and cater if you want a unforgettable lunch meeting.

Definitely in the middle of nowhere. However, it’s a quick 10 minute drive from the University of Michigan’s north campus – plenty close enough for a quick lunch. I stopped by there for lunch today and got the trio (pork, chicken, brisket) of sandwiches – all of which were very good. Good prices as well. One note – there’s only one table in the place, so plan to squeeze in there, sit outside, or order takeout. UPDATE: Went back and got the ribs – absolutely fabulous.

First time visit on a Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. No one was there except me. my impression of the place visually is that they just don’t care anymore. Dirty floors, dead fly on the counter and didn’t bother to wipe down the greasy counter where someone else had eaten prior. Kid working the counter just didn’t care. Ribs taste like they were cooked fast on a gas grill, not low and slow. Brisket was reheated and chewy and mostly inedible fat. All the meat was drowned in thick syrupy sauce, this is a BBQ sin! Go to Satchels if you want good BBQ.
