First time trying out Rooster. Staff was friendly and helpful. The place is clean with nice bathrooms. I had the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. It was excellent with good sauce and a decent kick, though I’d prefer it hotter. The waffle fries were good but not terribly hot, thus the 4 stars for the food. The lemonade is worth the extra cost IMO. Try it, we need to support these great, small, independent restaurants! I look forward to trying out the wings next time.

Was pretty excited going into it but the food was a miss for me. The food portions were good and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich came with a large piece of chicken. That being said, there are certain elements that make Nashville hot chicken what it is, and this did not have those elements. It was more just a spicy chicken sandwhich with this spicy pepper sauce lightly basted on it, coleslaw and pickle. The flavor was more black pepper forward and had wasn’t great. I asked what their best side was an was told Mac n cheese, that it’s home made and delicious. I found it to be very bland and heavy on the creamy cheese sauce. I would maybe try a different chicken sandwich in a pinch because of the portion size, but I wouldn’t get the Nashville hot, the Mac n cheese, and I would not make it a combo, as the value is not there. For an additional $5 you get a handful of fries or chips and a smaller 16oz fountain drink with no refills.

Excellent Nashville hot sandwich. Doesn’t scorch your mouth but has some kick with excellent flavor! (For those that like spicy food). We will be coming back for sure!!! Their homemade lemonade is fire too

This is a hidden gem in Hastings! I got the deluxe sandwich, and the chicken was seasoned great and was probably twice the size of the bun! Will be back.

Took my wife there for lunch and was amazed how big, spacious and clean the inside is. Its family owned and operated, which is hard to find these days. My wife ordered the chicken wrap and I had wings with waffle fries. They olso have a wide verity of lemon aids. It was a great choice for lunch.
