Enjoyed my first of many more to come experiences at Roots. The smell alone was worth it. Ordered the pulled pork egg rolls and the fancy clucker sandwich. Neither disappointed! Friend ordered the fried pickles and a pulled pork sandwich. The pickles were delicious! Looking forward to going back soon! Staff was friendly, place was clean, we were greeted and seated within a timely manner.

A very bright spot in the small downtown of Almont. Service was great, but I was the only person there at 3:30 in the afternoon so I would anticipate nothing less. I tried the pulled chicken and brisket with roasted red skins and coleslaw. The chicken was outstanding, seasoned perfectly ( smoke and spices) and not dried out. The brisket was meh, I didn’t find it too tasty, but brisket is a tough one. It was juicy but lack a good smoke ring and distinct smokiness or spice. Memphis brisket has spoiled me. The sides were very good. Potatoes crisp and seasoned well and the slaw was crisp and not overwhelmed with dressing. I will try them again and revisit my rating.

Wow I got the Brisket Sammie and my gosh it was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever eaten! Service was excellent and looked very clean inside. Wish I had the wife with me for this one. Can’t wait to go back and try something else.

We absolutely love this restaurant! The waitresses are always friendly and attentive, and the food is phenomenal! You can’t go there and not try their pulled pork egg rolls! Their brisket is the best! Smokey and tender. The portions are generous, we always need take home boxes. I’d highly recommend trying Roots!

Food is always excellent. Drinks are great. Service is great. Macaroni and cheese is so good and I love their nachos with pulled pork. Only 4 stars because it’s a little too cold so food gets cold quickly. I know the servers work up a sweat but still a bit too chilly. The booths are a bit awkward as well. The food is worth overlooking these small inconveniences.

The food and atmosphere were good here. We had the pretzel with beer cheese to start. I highly recommend. It was just the right amount of soft mixed with the eight amount of salt and flavor of cheese. We then shared the beef brisket with sweet potatoes fries and Mac-n-cheese. The fries were tasty but the mac-n-cheese didn’t have much flavor.

Some of my family met us up at Roots for dinner. There were 6 of us. The food came out in an ample amount of time. Everyone loved their food and drinks. We had a great time. The waitress was very nice. She talked and joked with us every time she came to the table.

Personally- BBQ places aren’t my first choice. My first visit about a year ago was great and ever since. Everything I’ve ordered is fresh made and great. We now visit Roots 2-4 times a month. Staff is always pleasant and prompt. Katherine is our favorite. We’ve never experienced a problem.
