Roots was born out of our large family’s love for food, farming, and hosting.
The family farm, where we raise the beef and pork that ends up on your plates, is just down the road in Reynolds, IN. Our family has farmed in the Wolcott area for generations, and we strive to honor our local heritage. We’re proud to feature some classic Midwestern dishes and source what we can from Hoosier companies.

Very nice farm-to-table place with amazing food! I came to get the gourmet burger or the pork, but was immediately smitten with the Asian shrimp stir fry that was the special for the evening. I did not go wrong! Too bad this place is so far from Fort Wayne (for me anyway, maybe not for the people of Western Indiana)!

We had a scrumptious meal at Roots!! Our server was very attentive and efficient. We got the loaded mac n cheese (cheesy capitani pasta, pulled pork, bacon) all done just right and full of flavor, also stuffed meatloaf (ground beef with ham and mozzarella and tomato sauce rolled in the middle) which was yummy with garlic mashed potatoes. We saved some of our entrees for tomorrow so we would have room to split a piece of homemade brown sugar cream pie. Definitely recommend this gem of a restaurant!! We’ll be back!

I’ve been coming to Roots on a regular basis for over a year now. You will always find something you like in their menu. I’m particularly fond of the Black and Blue Salad. The steaks are cooked with great care. Being a rare steak fan I am never disappointed. I haven’t found another restaurant locally that can cook a steak as well.
