Rootz cafe is a hidden GEM ! I have to eat here at least once a week. Portions are huge. Quality impeccable ! Fresh fish and veggies everytime plus great service. This is hands down the best Jamaican restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.

I’ve gotten lots of recommendations to come here and for good reason. The food is good, simple enough. The main problem is that they take too long. I placed an order for a Barby Fry Chicken and Mac and cheese. I was sitting and waiting for more than 30 minutes for my food. The restaurant is very small so I could see how busy the chefs were so it’s understandable. I might go back but I’ll call in ahead of time.

Came for lunch and were very satisfied. The Bang bang shrimp salad is a must! Shrimp was delicious, and plentiful(they didn’t skimp on my shrimp) veggies were fresh and amazing. My husband ordered the days special oxtail w/ rice and peas. Another hit at the table. Would most definitely recommend and will definitely be back

Warm personalities that make it a place that i will comeback to. The food was fresh, taste great, plating ( looked like a restaurant that would charge three times the amount). Finally some flavorful tasting Caribbean food. Food not overly salted or heavily peppered or too oily or dried out. Nice clean atmosphere, not stifling in heavy grease or walking out smelling like food greasy. Majority of food is prepared by order. Tasty food.

First time trying this place and I won’t again. Cajun chicken pasta taste was off, rice and peas is white with no peas, the barbi fry chicken wasn’t great, the oxtail was salty and so dark, seafood soup was so spicy, steam veggies was soaking wet. Everything was just not good. Really regret coming here on a Friday evening.
