About Rosati’s Pizza of Bloomington/Normal
Rosati’s Pizza is one of the oldest surviving family pizza restaurant businesses in the U.S. In 1927, Saverio Rosati opened a restaurant downtown Chicago that became a favorite watering hole for the old Chicago society and Windy City politicians. On any given night you might spot Jack Haley, the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz, enjoying a hearty helping of homemade Italian specialties or notorious gangster, Al Capone and his entourage sharing a heaping dish of pasta with his so called nemesis, Eliot Ness. In 1964 when Saverio retired, his sons Dick, Ron and Al opened the first Rosati’s Pizza in the Illinois suburb of Mount Prospect. By 1978, ten Rosati family members owned carryout pizzerias.

Visiting from St. Louis. I always wanted to try Rosati’s in person as we usually purchase it from the freezer at our local grocer. Upon receiving a pizza from this establishment, I definitely should’ve heeded the other reviews, but always try to patronize different restaurants. My husband and I ordered a 1/2 and 1/2 pizza with one half being – bacon, sausage, pepperoni and the other half just cheese. When getting my slice I noticed a piece of sausage was on my side and I just picked it off (ok, no biggie) then I tasted bacon. I went back to inspect the rest to see if the “cheese” slices had meat on them, and in fact they did. I’m not one to complain or call things in as I usually can compromise, but the cost of the pizza was way too expensive to just “let it slide”.

If you want pizza that actually tastes fantastic and has great service, this is a one stop shop. Great atmosphere and wonderful staff, this is a tiny gem that I have missed for way too long. All of their pizza is amazing but my favorite is the veggie add sausage and the cheesy breadsticks! Please try eating inside, I would hate to see this place disappear with the rest of them.

We called for delivery and the wait time was “at least” an hour but they didn’t know how long it would be. We chose to pick it up. She said 30 min. We got there about 25 min later and they had trouble locating our pizza. They finally found it in the warmer. We came straight home. It was cold. It was if it had been sitting for 30 min. Heating it up didn’t even help. It tasted like old, gas station pizza. And the last pizza we got from them we had delivered from them (was the exact same order) arrived cold and was over $40. All for a 16” pizza toppings on 1/2. And while we were picking up our pizza a gentleman was in there because his pizza had been delivered and they had completely forgotten to deliver one of them. I’ve never had issues with any other Rosatis. We won’t be ordering from them anymore. For $10 more I can order Tobins and it’s so much better.

They have prices posted and they don’t honor them. After I paid I questioned the price and they said “oh those are old prices ” our company hasn’t update them yet….they had raised a 12″ pizza over $3 higher than what was shown….they said it will be done in 20 min( I’m the only customer in there)….after 35 min I asked what was wrong, they said it will be another 5 min….. come to find out they were just too concern as to why their cash register was short $20 and that took all their attention…..pizza was just ok…definitely not the old Rosati’s of the past.

I wish I could give them less than one star! We received a cold smashed pizza after 2 hrs, called the store who, at the time, were very understanding and offered us 50% off of our next pizza….well fast forward to tonight, the person at the store would ABSOLUTELY not honor our credit and basically accused me of somehow making this whole thing up to get a pizza for half price. WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THIS PLACE AGAIN, it used to be one of the BEST places in town but now..not so much

Was quoted an hour or less for delivery. Called at 75 mins and it was out for delivery and should be here soon. Called at 90 mins and he just left to deliver the pizza. Pizza finally arrived at 2 hours and was cold! Oh and we didn’t even get a discount unless we wanted to wait even longer to talk to a manager. Would not recommend this location!

HUGE price difference online vs instore. Staff is condescending as well. Went to order a 18″ Chicago with chicken, mushrooms and pineapple (Double mushrooms and pineapple) total after tax was just shy 50. Had a coupon for free wings too, website wouldn’t accept. Called in order, wife went to pay and the new cost 63.. 8 surcharge on the pizza that WAS NOT on the site and the guy kept saying tax, the website SHOWED WITH TAX, and he wouldn’t listen at all. Had I known there was a people who don’t pay attention to receipts tax, I wouldn’t have ordered. NEVER AGAIN.

Very disappointed with my last Chicago style pizza from this place. Used to be AMAZING. However now it’s all dough, thin toppings and a dry pizza. Won’t be buying anymore $40 pizzas from this place

We ordered 3/18 and our 48.xx order came cold. Called and Kendra said I can make new pizzas or credit. We opted for 48.xx credit. Called today…3/24, she said I don’t have that authority. Manager offered 5.00 off.

I wish there was an option not to give any stars at all! This place is a joke! No consistency at all! I was quoted 45 mins but pizza came almost 1 1/2 hrs later. Management is a joke. I have placed several large orders from this place for my office staff. After today I will not longer do business with them…what does it cost you(Rosati’s) for better communication? It just cost you a customer.
