This place is a relatively hidden gem in this area and we are so glad to have stumbled across it! I think like others have mentioned in their reviews, Rosemary Bistro feels like an incredible French family meal with staff that are extremely knowledgeable, welcoming, and attentive. Each dish truly transported me back to my time living in France. The plates were thoughtful and the plating was exceptional. If you’re looking for a fine French dining experience with the comfort of a DC neighborhood, this is the place for you.

Coming to Fred’s restaurant is like coming to your favorite family for the best meal you could possibly ask for where you are welcomed with a smile and open arms. The wait staff is attentive and efficient. The menu is interesting and every dish is superb. We enjoyed octopus, lamb, scallops, and avocado ahi. Our desserts covered beignets, floating island, and our all time favorite chocolate mousse. Looking forward to coming back to our neighborhood bistro for the best meal of the week.

What an amazing authentic French restaurant ! The name itself smells “douce France” from Charles Trenet…. The menu is an incredible difficult choice of so delicious dishes, from the salmon tartar, to the creamy mushroom risotto, the endives salad and the moules-frites ! Desserts are authentic French: creme brûlée, tarte Tatin, ile flottante…. a perfume of “la Madeleine de Proust”. Delicious, refined, delicate, excellent and fresh products and fish, beautifully presented. Lovely deck under a tree with little light bulbs reminding a 14th of July in the French countryside. Lovely deco and details (water bottles, napkins…) A French must, for the purists. And warm welcome, which is not a guarantee in this area….Highly recommend !

Mixed feelings about this mostly lovely restaurant. Fairly good service but my requested medium rare steak came well done. When I complained, they took it back and I ended up with an extremely rare steak (almost raw in parts) which was not what I wanted either but I ate it not wanting to complain again .I get it. It was a thin steak, but it is possible to cook a thin steak medium rare. Nonetheless, the sauce was delicious. The fries were yummy and the small salad was scrumptious. I would definitely go again but would not order something that requires precision grilling.

A friend and I dined here for the first time last night and really enjoyed our meal. I had the D’Artagnan rabbit leg and she had the beef bourguignon, and we shared a reasonably priced bottle of Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits. The service was well-timed and our server was super friendly and helpful. I will definitely come here again.

Classic French Bistro, great food and ambiance – personable owner completes the French theme perfectly. All the classics, steak frites, mussels, coq au vin, delectable salads and great crusty bread. Upper Northwest DC has a winner!

Plenty of outside seating. Good social distancing and safety measures. We ordered salmon tartare avocado toast and pork dumplings. A cup of cappuccino. Everything was delicious. Will be back.

A neighborhood French restaurants, the food is good and well prepared and presented, nothing that I had strikes me as a must have again, the portions are decent considering it’s a French restaurant, the decor is simple and the staff is professional, the desserts were very good but limited selection, it’s definitely worth a try specially if you live in the area
