Stopped in town for work and this was some of the BEST bbq we’ve ever had. Melts in your mouth and falls off the bone. The R&S bbq sauce was also amazing, everything here was on point and perfect. Including the two running it, amazing people! And super friendly.

I had a briscet 1 meat plate with potato salad and chili beans. The food was off the chart good. The brisket would melt in your mouth and the flavor was perfect. The sides are just as good. The dining area was spotless as was the bathroom. You can tell they take pride in every aspect of their business. This is one of the few places I would have given 6 stars to if there was a 6th star. Too bad it is 800 miles from where I live.

Nice clean place with super good bbq. Got the one meat plate with brisket, chili beans, and Mac and cheese. The brisket was tender and had a nice smoky flavor. The chili beans were very good with ground pepper. The Mac and cheese had bits of meat giving it a good flavor. Portions were serious! Overall was very impressed with this small place with big flavors. The service was excellent also.

Mom&Pop BBQ place. Absolutely the best beef ribs I’ve ever had. Fall off the bone, but so meaty and smoky. Excellent brisket, too. Homemade sides. Don’t miss the potato salad or the banana pudding!

Hands down, some of the best BBQ I’ve eaten in a long time. I ordered the 3 meat plate and I almost couldn’t finish it because of the portion size. (I’m in no way complaining) the brisket had a good smoke ring, the rub was on point, and the tenderness was perfect. The ribs… my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Perfect pull and seasoning. The only thing left of them were the bones. The link sausage was very good. The casing had the snap that everyone loves. The grind was perfect, as well as the seasoning. The potato salad and chili beans were great as well. The owners, a husband and wife team, were extremely kind and welcoming. It was like they were inviting me into their home. I will definitely, without a doubt be back!

Going to R&S was not supposed to be in our plans. I took my family to Waco for the Dr. Pepper museum, and we were supposed to eat BBQ on our way home to the Houston area, but time got away from us. I Google searched the highest rated BBQ in Waco and ended up here. Definitely not the typical Texas BBQ joint but nonetheless was good, just not what I was hoping for. No wood pile, no smokers to look at, food preparation done out of view, and Gospel music in the background. Very good service and helpful with the menu. Our order was slightly messed up, but was corrected. All four of us ordered brisket, but when we started asking for particulars were told to take it up with the chef. We all ended up with lean brisket, which was good, but we normally order moist, ends, with bark, or mixed. A couple of us had ribs, which were very good, but not great. My wife ordered sausage, and it looked and tasted like grocery store sausage that had been overcooked and partially sliced. The Mac and cheese was good, so where the green beans. My daughter let me try her potato salad, it was ok. The price was good, about $16-18 a person. I would have been upset about paying top BBQ prices for this food, because it wasn’t top Texas BBQ. Not every place has to be awesome and expensive, and it was definitely better than going to a chain restaurant like Rudy’s. (Sorry, no pictures this time. When we were served our food it didn’t scream “You’ll want to remember this meal!”)

What a great find! We were warmly greeted and shown what foods were offered. We tried links, brisket and ribs with green beans and chili beans. All was delicious but links and brisket were the stars. Also the sauce is more of a vinegar flavor than sugar, which is our jam. Would absolutely recommend this restaurant.
