I stopped by the Rum Cake Lady Cuban Cafe with my wife while staying in McCaysville. The atmosphere is simple and charming, with Cuban memorabilia decorating the walls. But the real highlight is the authentic Cuban food.

Very delicious and authentic Cuban sandwiches with a variety of beverages to choose from. Very friendly staff accompanied by quick service. This brick and mortar is in a prime location at a T-intersection in town. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, but be aware of the train schedule, as they will get extremely busy on the weekends, and there is limited seating. Your best option for parking is across the street at the IGA grocery store.

Excellent food! We stopped during the train ride, back and forth from Blue Ridge. My nephew asked where we should eat. “Just find the nana” and that’s where you should eat. We found her here! Cuban tamales – great. Empanadas – great. Plantains – awesome. It’s casual dining and priced fairly. My only criticism was the eating arrangements. We ordered eat-in vs take out. Yet the food still came in a bag. Some napkins, limited plastic ware, no plate (sad face). An added star came when nana came by the table to see if the food was cooked to liking:)

Sweetest family run Cuban restaurant…their empanadas and bowls were amazing! You can buy fresh Cuban bread and homemade desserts. Highly recommend! Wish we had one in Auburn!

We brought our parents over for lunch on Friday and they were all so pleasantly surprised to find such delicious Hispanic food here in McCaysville. Elizabeth the owner overheard our parents speaking Spanish and came to welcome us chat with us at our table, it made our parents day. The food was all so delicious, we wound up dining in and ordering extras to take home and couldn’t leave without a mini Rum cake. We certainly regretted not buying a larger cake when we arrived back at home and devoured the mini. Thank you Elizabeth and your warm and hospitable team! You have lifetime customers here with us.

This place is a fresh find in North Georgia! I only tried the beef and chicken empanadas, but they were good. They seemed a little bit expensive for what they were, but good nonetheless. I would highly recommend the green cilantro dipping sauce!

Nice little Cuban restaurant and it’s mostly busy. Had chicken bowl, veggies meal sandwich and turkey sandwich. Veggie meal sandwich was the best outta all three items. I found turkey sandwich but dry without flavors. The chicken bowl was good. My father loved their rum cake crackers(no sugar and no gluten) and we also had their regular rum cake which was good.

My second time at this place. Perfect spot if you’re going tubing for the day or getting off the Blue Ridge train. I had the vegan Cuban with vegan chick’n. Next time I will request the chimichurri sauce on the side.

Pleasant surprise in this area of the country. Really good food. Very friendly staff. The Tampa Cubano was close to the ones you get in Ybor City, but they added more cheese, which I like, and the pork was more chopped up. I’m not here to say, which is the best, just a little different.
