We came for lunch. Had a hot turkey and cheese, curly fries and banana puddin. My buddy had chicken fried steak and fried okra. We both had sweet tea. Everything was delicious and prices were good. Will visit again.

On a sunny afternoon I flew into Shelby Regional, parked my plane and walked over to the restaurant. Ordered the BBQ Sandwich Basket which showed up in short order. It looked and tasted great. I’ll be back!

There was a long blond hair in my fries. After looking at the cooks, I noticed one had straight, long, blond hair that was down in a ponytail with no hair net. Hush puppies were dry and flavorless.

This was the old “flying pig” and we weren’t satisfied with the service or food. We went around 1 o’clock for lunch and the staff was unsure if they had any more burger patties. Additionally they were out of slaw and their 747 brat. We asked for a side salad with our meal and did not get it until we reminded the staff. The girls were friendly and trying very hard to satisfy everyone, but it didn’t seem like they had what they needed to do their job.

Great small place with a very welcoming staff and home-town feel. Real home-cooked meals made on-site. Daily specials are wonderful and made daily. They are served until they run out. Very affordable and highly recommend you stop by to see Mr. T and staff.
