Our founder Rusty Fenton’s dream was to bring the authentic taco stand experience to local communities and to become the neighborhood taco stand.
The dream became reality when the first Rusty Taco opened in a converted gas station on Greenville Avenue in Dallas, TX in 2010. But Rusty Taco is more than just a place for street tacos. Rusty also believed in serving the community and creating a place where people from all walks of life can come together and feel welcome.
We are passionate about what we do and keep our menu fresh and simple. Deliciously uncomplicated tacos crafted by hand with recipes created by our founder, who famously said: “Tacos are the Most Important Meal of the Day®”!

Hands down worst taco ever. You got better luck going to Taco Bell. After what you pay here for one single taco, you expect better than what you actually get and the guacamole had absolutely no flavor. I added habanero sauce and it still couldn’t save it. This is supposed to be a “tex-mex” taco.

Just found it to be fairly expensive. Met a buddy there for lunch to give it a try. Open concept, there was a small bar. Look was pretty cool and seemed pretty clean. Kind of a fast food setup. You order your food and when it’s ready they call your name. They have a fountain drink station. You grab your own silverware and napkins. So other than someone taking your order there is no service. You bus your own table as well. We ordered 4 tacos and 2 drinks $26. The tacos are tiny, I stopped at McDonald’s on the way home because I was still hungry. Now they did taste good, I’ll give’m that. $26 for just tacos and drinks, no beans, rice, chips.. Better to go over to Plaza Azteca and get a meal for the same price and get chips.

Update 6/17/2023 Rusty Taco is still one of my favorites today. If you are in the area try it.

Just tried this place for the first time. I like the layout. It has an indoor-outdoor bar and plenty of outdoor seating. The prices are reasonable. I found the quality of the food to be great! They also offered a little healthier option by turning your taco into a salad. For taco bowl expect to pay about $10.

We eat breakfast at Rusty taco every Saturday morning. Our favorite hostess is Addy and we love the breakfast bowls.

My first visit. Very nice. Tacos are small and very authentic. Plan on 2 or three per person. I had brisket, pulled pork and fish. Self serve soft drinks. Several beers on tap.

I ordered three tacos. One of them was completely wrong – shrimp when it should’ve been beef. The other two were old and stale stashing. The fried chicken was cold and chewy (probably cooked hours ago) and the chicken fajita was chunks of lukewarm, chewy bland chicken. This is my first time going, highly disappointed, and will never go back.

We’ve been to Rusty Taco a few times and while the food isn’t terrible, it’s definitely not worth the prices they charge, in my opinion.

After the storm came through last night and knocked out power to whole town of Colonial Heights , we decided we needed a good meal, and Rusty Taco did not disappoint. Food and service was so good, we momentarily forgot about our hot house. Love this place.
