We have eaten here a number of times and this year went on our anniversary. The food was great…they do seafood very well! My only comment is they need to keep their website updated. We travelled there on a Saturday ready to feast and when we got there they were closed, disappointing but we went back Monday around 4om they were not yet open when the website said they opened at 2pm. I understand they had to reduce hours because they cannot find help…a sad situation these days for all businesses. Certainly I recommend this restaurant highly, just check times before you go…and enjoy!

Our server was great. However one server had the smallest pair of shorts on with a tank top and bra hanging out. Just unprofessional in my opinion. Cool place. We sat on outside screened in area. Without dragging this review out, the food is not worth the money. It’s not fresh but frozen, overcooked, under seasoned, and served in extremely cheap containers. Don’t waste your time.

Food is always fantastic! Garlic steak Alfredo is my personal favorite, my son loves the fried shrimp. Pulled pork on a bulkie is a close second for me. Wait staff is always friendly and on point. The owners are very down to earth and treat you like family. The decor is worth the visit and it’s the cleanest restaurant around.

This is not a best kept secret. When they are open, they are generally packed, so be prepared to wait for a table. Excellent food generous portions. It is a fantastic and diverse menu, from fried pickles to Lobster served many different ways.

Great food and drinks! Owned and run by original owners, Ruth and Wimpy! Funny and kind-hearted people who love their customers like family. Outside and inside seating. Honest and hard-working staff. Reasonable prices and wait time. Wheelchair accessible. Once you eat here, it’ll always be on the list of places to go back to!

Ruth and Wimpy’s has that old diner style with vinyl booths and cheap tables. There are shelves and shelves of beer bottles, beer steins and cars. The walls are adorned with lots of license plates. Funny sayings have been printed and tacked to the ceiling which were entertaining. Oh, and there is one men’s toilet and one women’s toilet for the whole restaurant so don’t wait til the last minute to go. We arrived around 4:00pm and were seated inside promptly. Then we waited. At least 10 minutes before someone approached our table to take our order. BTW while waiting we became acutely aware of the wait staff saying “corner” every time they went into or out of kitchen. Our booth was right by the kitchen so we heard “corner” every few seconds. It was annoying to say the least. How about fixing the corner??? Anyway, we ordered a couple IPAs and some sodas. For dinner, my sister and husband both ordered the fried haddock basket. Oddly, one came with two pieces of fish and the other only had one. The meal with one piece was on a smaller plate with less french fries. What the??? They were hungry so they just ate it anyway. The thin pieces of haddock were ok but the french fries were cold. My spouse had the very expensive clam chowder and equally expensive buffalo sauce shrimp. Neither of them was good so it was a costly mistake. The chowder was thick with potatoes and clams but was tasteless. The shrimp were spiral shaped, and they all looked exactly the same as if they came frozen from a vendor. The shrimp had no flavor nor did the weird breading. I ordered the 1 ½ lb lobster and fries. They “messed up” the lobster. I don’t know how that was the explanation the waitress gave me. They were nice enough to give me the option of waiting for a new one to be cooked or getting the Lazy Man’s Lobster for the same price. I opted for Lazy Man. The rest of the table had their food so I watched them eat while I waited. The lobster arrived in about 5 minutes and the french fries in about 10 minutes (which were the best part as they were fresh and piping hot). The lobster was ok although a bit stringy, and the claw meat had a weird taste like iodine or something. The service was inconsistent, and they left dirty dishes on the table too long. Definitely not their finest hour. We’ll take our money elsewhere for our next outing.

The staff were kind and prompt. The atmosphere was cozy and car themed. License plates and model cars covered every inch of the walls.

Had a reservation and they lost lt. Took forever to get seated. Forever to get waited on and after inquiring (along with the table next to us) as to where our food was it was brought out cold. Not a good experience at all.
