My favorite steakhouse in LA. I took my partner for his bday and the servers and hosts made it so special. We ordered the tomahawk and it was the best piece of meat we’ve ever had. Their service was impeccable even though the restaurant was at capacity, and they gave my partner a birthday dessert. Loved it!

This used to be my go to place for upscale dining. The treatment and atmosphere justified the high prices. I recently went there and I have to say I was highly disappointed to the point I won’t be back. The staff was very inattentive and unfriendly. For starters, we were 2. They took ups to a nice table for 4 and cleared the table, leaving 2 old waters with no ice and 2 plates. No settings, No cold water. It took quite a while to get someone’s attention to even bring us settings. From there we never felt less special, which is the main reason you go to these over-priced eateries. The food was good except one potato had a giant inedible eye in it and the other was smaller than the 8 oz filet. When you go there you expect the best, instead we didn’t even get the minimum. I am disappointed to have to cross this restaurant off my list of places I love. If you are going to charge premium prices, you have to give premium service. They failed. I know know Dearden (Olive garden) bought them in May. Maybe that is why the change or maybe it is just good old poor management not watching what is going on. I am saying goodbye to Ruth Chris.

Large restaurant with plenty of tables but still would make reservations. Steaks and lobster are favorites here. I got the 11oz filet which was very good. Cheesecake desert was nice too.

Reservations were at 9pm and we arrived 18 minutes late. The manager said the kitchen closed at 9:15 and that they could only hold a reservation for 15 min (until 9:15). This seemed a dishonest answer to start because it is doubtful they can seat guests at the same time the kitchen closes. Furthermore, my husband and I explained to the manager that my toddler was motion sick (vomited) in the car on the way to his grandparents’ house prior to dinner, which put us behind. I know it is our fault for being late, however a little empathy would have gone a long way. Not only was the manager unempathetic, but he insisted the kitchen was closed and turned us away. This was our first night alone since our kids were born 4 years ago. Wish we had chosen another restaurant. We have been here so many times prior to having kids; Ruth’s Chris used to be so classy. Sorry to say, but it is like a fast food place for children. Never again!
