Wife got a grilled ham and cheese and the crust was cut off the bread in places. Upon inspection found mold on the bread. When we pointed it out to the server they took it off the table with no explanation or apology.

My parents and I had wanted to try the Rutland Restaurant for over a year as we pass it often. We stopped in yesterday and were very impressed! Don’t let its looks fool you, as the food and the service were fantastic. My mom got a chef salad with fresh greens, huge hunks of turkey, and lots of crisp veggies. Dad and I had breakfasts with great portion sizes cooked to order.

For a decent meal where the owner and staff actually care about their customers, you cannot beat the Rutland Restaurant! The owner and his family have created a landmark for generations to come. If you want a place that is more substance than neon, this is the right place for you. The food is carefully prepared according to the owner’s propriety recipes and imparts the flavors and honesty of traditional, home-cooked cuisine – it’s my first stop whenever I visit Rutland.
