I went here on a recommendation from a friend awhile back and was not disappointed. If you like old school places good food and friendly people you will want to check this place out. I like going here when I gotta taste for seafood Sarah has always had great recommendations when I can’t decide. !! Thank you Sarah !! Items to mention walleye bites, lake perch, hash browns, chili and of course a Bloody Mary are some of my favorites.

A hidden gem! The best perch, walleye, and pork chops you will ever experience! Nicole, Sarah, and Terri are the nicest and most efficient team in the business!Johnny’s cooking never disappoints and is better than any steakhouse! It’s fine dining without the fuss or expense!

The walleye was a treat! We had it in a buttery sauce, with light Cajun seasoning and the carrots and green beans on the side. Saban’s is a friendly place with a nice bar.

My family has been here infrequently in the past 5 years. Each time, we have had a very enjoyable, personable experience. We went last month, what a difference. We arrived seeing the dining room with available seating. The first question we were asked upon was, “Do you have a reservation?” Luckily, I had called to check if they were open and asked if we needed one. Reply was no. So I passed that onto the greeter. (We never had to make reservations before). Then we were shown to the nearby table, and another waitress had our waitress show us another corner table instead. Long story short:

The best prime rib for the cost. Great soup, salad, veggies, potato. Singer average at best. Sarah, bartender, was wonderful. We will be back once a month.

Came here from out of town and thought a small hole in the wall steakhouse would do the trick; it was AMAZING. I felt like Chef Ramsey was feeding my friend and I. We had the walleye bites as an appetizer, and we each ordered NY Strip Steak with garlic pasta, salad, and carrot. The steaks were tender and cooked properly, the pasta was done but not overdone, and carrots were cooked through and soft but not mushy. It was a perfect night to a bad day with a great friend. The lighting is a little dim, but not so bad as to make reading the very simple menu difficult. Staff were attentive and I would have my drink filled nearly immediately after taking my last sip. I couldn’t ask for better service. Definitely worth it for a Friday night out with family.

Definitely an old school steak house. On the original old Route 66. The very last place on the right East of Route 45. A family owned and operated steak house with everything fresh and prepared by family. Staff apparently are hired and just become family. Regular customers know that they love this place and keep coming back week after week. Expect to pay approximately $30.00 for your entree.

Longtime staple of the area. Food is truly exceptional as is the service. While many reviews refer to this as a neighborhood place – and it is – do not be misled. The quality of the food is comparable to anything that you would get in any of the best downtown Chicago restaurants. We know because we frequently dine at such establishments. Yes – the menu is limited but that’s because everything is made from FRESH ingredients. As frequent diners, we have visited venues with extensive menus but always remain cognizant of the fact that many of those entrees will be frozen and micro waved. Not so here. And you can speak to the chef if you wish. Seafood and beef dishes are memorable Mixed drinks and wine are very good and reasonably prices. All the servers we’ve had have been personable and helpful. Even if you do not live nearby, Sabans is worth a trip.
