The owner did not accept constructive criticism. The lomillo salteado was brought to us without rice and 6 pieces of 1” cubed steak and 9 fries. She said that it’s gourmet size. She charged for refills. She said that she has been in business for a long time and she is not changing her ways and bragged about been to have the best steak in town. She says she has a lot of clients and the entire time we were there, we were the only clients she had.

Small restaurant in a Peruvian gift shop. Authentic and flavorful. Must order the lomo saltado. Their special weekend shrimp soup was also very delicious. Some items (photos) on the menu did not have prices and was a tad pricier than expected. Overall good experience.

One of the things that I first noticed as I was walking by the Outdoorsman which is a business inside the De Vargas mall is a restaurant by the name of Sabor Peruano Restaurant. What first caught my eye was all of the Peruvian textiles and other colorful Peruvian items for sale. With all of those items on the walls I thought what a great way to decorate the restaurant and also make income at the same time. So I started to read about some of the menu items that were posted on the wall outside of the restaurant. A lady came out and started talking to me about how good the food was so I decided to try it.

Excellent! A five star rating is very rare. This restaurant deserves it. Recommendations from the owner/chef were so right on. We began with empanadas. Every bite was a new taste sensation. And we also had a potato dish (see the smiling face) that was unusually delicious, unlike any food in North America. Main course (only on Saturday) was a shrimp, corn, rice, potato soup. Marvelous. Every ingredient very fresh. Each morsel gave a new savory sensation. For dessert a Flan unlike any other I have evr had here or in Mexico or elsewhere. This little hide away in the de vargas mall is SO worth visiting and sharing with friends. If only we had also enjoyed a Pisco Sour! Go and taste these delicious Peruvian dishes. You will not regret any of them.

Definitely would recommend eating here! We ate off the vegan menu and had lots of options. Everything was plated beautiful and had rich strong flavors. My favorite was the Palta Rellena (stuffed avocado). We even had vegan dessert!

The food was delicious, the restaurant/shop was so cute and the staff was really nice, a wonderful little gem in Santa Fe. I gave it four stars because the service was slow and it took them a little while to take our order, the prices are okay, paying $15 after taxes and tip for an appetizer. Overall, a good, clean, different place to eat at the De Vargas mall with a vegetarian menu!

Good Peruvian food at reasonable price. Very small restaurant with no other patrons, server (owner?) very attentive, was doing paperwork at next table. Lots of merchandise for sale. Server almost too attentive.
