I ate here two mornings while I was in Council Grove. Excellent! Biscuits and gravy the first morning (was thrilled to find homemade sausage gravy!), eggs, loaded hash browns, bacon and toast Sunday morning. Eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon was actually crisp just like I ordered! Great service! Had two different waitresses, both very good! The one from Saturday remembered me and asked if I got the cranberry orange bread this time! I sure did! You HAVE to try their homemade breads! So good!

Food was good and decent pricing; however, they need more servers apparently. Not 1 coffee refill even after she said when bringing the check she’d grab some. French toast on their homemade cinn raisin bread was delish.

Sour if the moment decision to get breakfast, and we were not disappointed! Dietary restrictions were honored without question. Look at the biscuits and gravy! Homemade biscuits were delicious. Coffee is as always full. Great small town experience

Have you been looking for that hole in the wall small town Cafe? Look no further, this place is it. Dang the food was really good. The best “toast”I’ve ever eaten. Good enough I’ll drive two and a half hours to eat here again. And the help, excellent. Seriously, go eat there, you won’t regret it.

This place was jam packed on a weekday. Not sure how the food was, but the coffee was awful. Plus, there was only powdered creamer or 2% milk to put in it.

Small hometown diner- food was very good – homemade bread was OFF THE CHARTS!! I will drive 90 miles just for the homemade bread! Cranberry, orange bread buttered and grilled– it was heavenly! They also have cinnamon rasin bread!

Such a cute little small town Cafe! The food is AMAZING! Prices are GREAT! The homemade bread is amazing. If you want cinnamon rolls make sure you get there early. We got there a little after 11 and they were already gone. I wish we could have tried them. Plates are a generous portion. Service is fair. Bathrooms are tiny and could be better kept.

Nice local cafe. A great alternative to Hays House. Turns out, the chicken fried steaks are frozen, except when they’re not (we visited on Sunday and got the special, hand-breaded CFS). Good chow. And it’s just not everyday that a city-dweller gets to read a menu printed in Comic Sans. Welcome to 1987, Saddlerock.
