We drove down from Tyler to eat at this legendary place. The chips, salsa, guacamole were good, as were the fried green tomatoes. Our man courses – chicken-fried steak and grilled salmon – were average. The mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were good. We got pie to go. What left us with a sour taste in our mouths were the prices. A margarita and a thimble-sized old fashioned were $20 apiece. That’s ridiculous, reason enough alone to not go back. There wasn’t enough whiskey in the glass to cover half of the ice cube. It was over in seven small sips. We’ve paid less for more in New York City. Our bill was north of $100, around double what it should have been. Overpriced and underwhelming.

This is one of those places where you can feel like you are in another place. Feels like a big city fancy restaurant and the food is elevated and artistically presented. The atmosphere is very cooking channel but still affordable for average people. It’s located in the old city jail. We always try to dine in the old cell.

Food was really delicious. It has an upscale mom and pop flavor to its food. I had the shrimp and crayfish Alfredo with grilled asparagus and fried Brussel sprouts. It was amazing. I will definitely come back in a heartbeat

Food was delicious but the portions were a little small. Had to pay for chips and salsa.

Great place to eat and have boat reveal party. The owners graciously opened their place for a private birthday party.

Enjoyed Sadler’s. Great atmosphere. Fun to explore. We had crab cake appetizer, I had the Crawfish and shrimp pasta, hubby had the brisket quesadilla. We finished up with pie. All was delicious!

We had a terrific time on our first visit to Sadler’s. Love the history of the building and the use of space. Two indoor dinning rooms plus the bar area. Nice outdoor patio. The crawfish enchilada had a great flavor with enough heat. The brisket enchilada was also very good. The watermelon jalapeño margarita was spot on for the hot summer day. Lots of great drink choices and the bartender is fantastic. The coconut creme pie was light and airy. It wasn’t too sweet. The crust buttery and flavorful. Can’t wait to try other menu items and desserts.

My meal was very good. I ordered the chicken fried steak with fries and asparagus. The asparagus was excellent. My wife ordered the crab cakes, and they were awful. Don’t believe there was any crab in them, but did find some crawfish. For $50+ it’s not worth it at all. Please don’t order the crawfish cakes because they’re terrible. That was our first and last visit to Sadler’s.
