We made reservations a month in advance. We had a party of 3. The server was great but pushy. Know that when you come, they are trying to get you out ASAP. We ordered and the server kept taking our stuff asking if we were done with our plates that had food on them. It took away from the experience. We also arrived first and they set us at the smallest table in the middle of the room and the music was blaring so we had to yell if we wanted to converse. I personally enjoy a more intimate dining experience, a booth or table in the corner would have been nice since it was a family meal. The food was good. The crab Rangoon was mid. There wasn’t anything that stood out from the rest of the other Japanese restaurants. The Wagyu was good but it was doused in a salty sauce. I would expect that to be on the side since the dish was $75 per serving. The sushi was the best part. Again, the constant interruption from the wait staff, literally every 3 minutes took away from the experience which is why I gave this place a 3/5⭐️. We had a $300 dinner that we didn’t get to really enjoy because they were trying to rush us out so they could fill it for the next reservation.

5 stars all around! The Sado staff warmly greeted us and offered helpful suggestions on making the most of our visit. Dishes are meant to be shared and you should order 2-3 per person from different sections of the menu. That all being said…. do not skip the Brussels sprouts!! Also if considering wagyu, perhaps order the maki instead of the hot rock (the ponzu sauce is next level). Lastly make sure to order at least one benitoro nigiri … chef’s kiss. The experience and quality justify every penny of the price. Bring a jacket as it is a little chilly inside but well worth it.

Brilliant food, atmosphere and service. Curt provided great service and had a mastery of the menu able to answer any “foodie” questions we had. Everything we tasted was amazing including; Nasa (Eggplant), Japanese Pumpkin and Green Curry, Variety of Tempura so fresh and crispy, and the sushi rolls. Plateware was really nice and everything was thoughtfully presented as you would expect from a first class Japanese restaurant. LOVED the experience and cannot wait to come back with friends. Absolutely delicious meal. The best sushi in STL by far. Everything we tried, I would totally get again. Highly recommend the Tiger Cry & Old Yokai Maki. Probably the best crab rangoons! Having the crab rangoons in the egg roll gives you so much more than the typical crab Rangoon that has all that extra fried stuff. Great cocktails! Our desert was very different with lots of different textures but great flavor combo. If you haven’t had a chance to try Sado, do it!

The best Sushi place in STL! A perfect place for date night! Reservation highly recommended but after 9:00 pm ample seating available. Great service, friendly servers and a eclectic vibe. A bit loud music but sets the mood well. A very elaborate set of menu of cocktails, wine. The sushi- sashimi have a twist to it. Don’t hesitate to ask your sever to guide you. Enjoy the sushi ride!!

Husband and I really enjoyed ourselves at Sado. Our server Jeff was great! Everything was amazing!! We can’t wait to be back! We ordered a variety of dishes that we shared, which fill both of us up. Definitely recommend getting a few items to sharing with your party.

This is place for a phenomenal dinner. They totally blew away our already high expectations. Cocktails and our food was amazing. Service was impeccable and on point. I’d make reservations now because they will be booked out as soon as the bookings are released.
