Great experience at this Sagar Chinese restaurant at Herndon which is a branch of the Sagar Chinese restaurant from New York. Delicious Bangladeshi style Chinese food which they are famous for. We went in after the lunch rush and before dinner service so we had a great private dining experience with attentive service. We ordered the Thai soup which was delicious and spicy, the lollipop chicken which was delicious as the appetizers. For the entrees we ordered the Sagar fried rice, beef chili, chow mein, chicken roast and haji biriyani. Fantastic food that we will go back for more!

The Thai soup was excellent. My server was very concerned that it might be too spicy for me, I reassured him I would be fine. Ok, it was a bit spicy, but excellent. I had some steamed dumplings I enjoyed. My main course, a beef dish, was unfamiliar to my palate and I left it only half eaten.

We went there for dinner despite the reviews and we were not disappointed. The service is pretty fast and the food tasted really good. The only thing I wasn’t aware of is that they charge 15% service charge on your check automatically. Which wasn’t a big deal as I was happy with my experience.

Food is always fresh and tasty! Have tried both Chinese and deshi options and all items ordered have been fantastic. I have also had delivery and catering from them as well. Definitely recommend the chicken roast, kacchi biryani, and both soups.

I bought soup and veg hakka noodles and bit on a piece of concrete while eating the noodles. I wonder how unsanitary a place has to be to find concrete in the food. This is absolutely disgusting! Including the picture, excuse the photo, I had to spit it out!

Needed to explore Indo-Chinese restaurants when we bumped into Sagar. Taste could have been better. The Manchurian Balls were very dry, we couldn’t eat them at all. Hakka Noodles was good , but still didn’t meet out taste expectations. Vegetable Chilli was very much undercooked. And my friends tried Chicken Fired-rice, they said everything was undercooked and chicken was very dry. Since I am vegetarian, I couldn’t make a great judgment on chicken dishes. Overall a bad experience of taste . I feel they can improve their menu.

The best Bangladeshi food in the Northern Virginia, DC, and perhaps even Maryland. The chicken roast, polao, muglao paratha, the Chinese fusion dishes…all hits the mark. I bought catered food from a work event which had a very diverse group of people and food. Everyone at the work event loved the roast chicken and begged for me to buy more. I did of course. Very friendly service. It’s so great that I recommend a Bangladeshi restaurant to my non-Bangladeshi friends and colleagues. Yes…the Chinese fusion dishes are great as well.
