We spent a weekend in Andrews. Driving through the sleepy little town, I was looking for something to eat. My partner was very interested in the Friday night food truck event, but while looking for parking I spied “Sage”. The place looked quiet for a Friday which would normally deter me, but with the food truck rally out back, I guessed maybe parking was an issue? Well, I wanted something good, not greasy food truck junk, so I asked the hostess if we were okay to sit outside. We had been out on the boat all day, enjoying the sun and the water, so we were not dressed for fine dining. They not only said, “yes” but they told us to please come inside! We were blown away by that hospitality as we were in flip flops, shorts, tank tops! We decided to stay on the deck as the sun was setting and we enjoy that time of day so much. Our hostess brought water and thanked us for stopping by. She was very friendly, personable and had a very fun edgy style. Our server, Robert, was certainly the best service we have had in a long time. Handsome, knowledgeable and skilled, Robert really guided us through the entire experience. We ordered the fried green tomatoes and corn soup. Both were so flavorful and fresh! We also got the burrata dish. House made burrata. So delicious. We went on to order the salad with raspberries and the Veggie Dinner plate. The veggie plate is a combination of sides. Our favorite part was the smoked tomato grits. Absolutely delicious. Then we had coffee and port. I had to get dessert: bread pudding with peaches and a bourbon cream sauce. Oh baby. Talk about amazing. This is not your average mountain town restaurant. This is a hidden gem, diamond in the rough, top secret speak easy of flavor. Run… don’t walk. Support this chef and his vision. They give a classy atmosphere without a pretentious attitude. Just what Andrews needed. Thank you, Sage. An oasis in Andrews. Best meal I had all week. We will be back!

Having dinned at the establishment that previously occupied this space, I was astonished to find that the new Restaurant of Sage bears no resemblance to its predecessor – and that’s a grand compliment. The meticulous interior design and the transformation of the courtyard are nothing short of outstanding, adding a touch of sophistication to Main Street in Andrews. As you step inside, you’re greeted with an ambiance that exudes brightness, class, and an impeccable sense of style.

Wow!!! Fine dining has arrived in Andrews, NC. We’ve been coming to Andrews and Lake Nantahala since 2004 and have NEVER had the experience we had at Sage! Amazing service, amazing food— the roasted pork belly with southern comfort plum glaze + smoked tomato grits appetizer was to die for! Fried green tomatoes with blue crab pimento cheese and red pepper jelly were best ever (and we are southerners who have had a lot of fried green tomatoes). For entrees, don’t miss the pan roasted duck breast, or the peach and habanero bbq salmon. I ordered scallops with corn that were a non-menu special and absolutely melt in your mouth. The desert didn’t disappoint either, you won’t regret the chocolate tube (trust me), but the peach and bourbon crème bread pudding was like nothing I’ve ever had. Go to Sage, arrive hungry, order anything — and enjoy the finest Andrews has ever offered. Thank you chef Steven Lash!!! We will be back.

It is difficult to put into words just how amazing Sage truly is. It must be experienced. Starting with the quaint garden path leading to the entrance, you are immediately hit with the perception that this isn’t your typical eatery. Sage is self-described as elevated dining and I can’t think of a better description. The decor is certainly upscale without being fussy or pretentious. Our server Robert soon arrived at our table, going through the menu options and asking about any allergies or dietary restrictions. The biggest issue we had was deciding on what to order. The pork belly and tomato grits appetizer is a show stopper and cannot be missed. For entrée choices, there’s plenty of options whether you desire locally sourced trout from Suches GA or the amazing New York strip. The flavors are sublime and clearly chosen by a true artist to compliment every morsel on the plate. We finished our meal with desserts that were heaven-sent along with a house blend coffee prepared in a French press tableside. Chef Steven has poured his heart and soul into this creation, and it shows at every level. Sage is a gem and worthy of your attention. We will be returning here soon!

Visiting from Baltimore and have been anticipating eating here for months- Sage did not disappoint! I particularly enjoyed the crab cake, the attention to detail by the staff, and the nice touch of French press coffee with dessert. I tried everything our table ordered and am so excited to come back and continue to try more. Sage is elevated yet homey, making it perfect for sharing a bottle of wine with company

WOW! What a wonderful experience dining at SAGE. I had visited this space in the past when it was a pasta restaurant. What Chef Steven and his crew have done is nothing but AMAZING! From the time you walk past the lighted menu posted near the outdoor seating area, to the time you walk through the door, everything about SAGE is top notch. The service, food, wine selection, and the personal meet and greet by Chef Steven, provides a dining experience you’ll never forget! I can’t wait until I head back to Andrews so I can experience awesome food and service.

Sage Elevated Ding is incredible. This is not your traditional restaurant. The gourmet touches put on every part of the meal were worthy of a five star restaurant. From appetizers like fried green tomatoes with blue crab pimento cheese and red pepper jelly sets the stage for what is to come, The entire meal was masterfully prepared and presented. Each bite of food totally delights your taste buds. The duck was unbelievable. The trout is not your deep fried, dried out version you get elsewhere, but a delicious juicy, perfectly cooked fish. Deserts were beyond description.

Had a wonderful 5-Star experience at Sage this past Friday night. The food was perfectly prepared. I had the salmon and my husband choose the special (seared diver scallops). Both dishes met and surpassed our expectations. The service was definitely on point with our server Robert to match the excellence of the food. Thank you Chef Lash.
