I walked in and ordered takeout. I was impressed with how fast they made my order. I think I only waited 15 minutes! And they were busy too. I ordered the Naruto roll, tuna and mango roll, the lobster rolled in seared tuna (appetizer) and two pieces of uni (sea urchin) sushi. I was surprised to see uni on the menu because it is such a delicacy! Everything was delicious except I was a little underwhelmed by the lobster wrapped in tuna. The portion of lobster was pretty small and it wasn’t very flavorful. I would definitely order the sushi again but change the appetizer up. Overall, a really great spot.

I’m glad that this place is open in my area. They have a good selection of sushi rolls. The taste is good too. The sashimi could be bigger. I like the ramen there even though the selection is quite limited. The service is good. The price is regular. I wish they have the half price sushi on Saturday like the other restaurant the same owner has in the area. Try the volcano roll.

I had a very nice experience with Sakana Sushi & Ramen on Cedar Grove Road in Somerset, NJ. I called in an order for take out and while it was a little bit of a challenge to explain my order, they got it right. The restaurant was nicely decorated for Christmas and I was greeted with a big welcome and my meal was ready to go. The sushi was nicely prepared, tasted good and was well-proportioned. I thought it was a bit pricey for the portion but not bad. I look forward to ordering from here again.
