A beautiful mom-pop authentic Japanese restaurant in Farmington. Limited daily menu options mostly meat based. Clean and hygienic. However in some dishes the owner can adjust the request for vegetarian options. Very homely, quiet and super friendly owners. The chef is from Japan and a very kind person. We ate vegetarian yaki udon and yasi furai which was delicious, freshly made and very authentic Japanese in flavor profile. We also tried shaved ice with strawberry syrup which was refreshing. We would be definitely trying more food in future. I hope they do keep having vegetarian options for people like me. I hope their business grows more in coming time!

I love going here whenever I can when they are open. I love the food because it’s fresh and homemade. There is one chef, but the food is worth the wait and at a good price. Their menu changes every day, so you’re always trying something new. The owner is super friendly and sweet. Highly recommend that everyone check this place out! You won’t be disappointed 🙂

The couple that own this place are the absolute sweetest people. The food is more of a lunch offering but it’s delicious. They offer three different meals with included sides. Good value. Literally nothing bad to say. Great place.

What a gem! We got a bunch of dishes from this amazing place when we were visiting the in-laws who live in Farmington. It was definitely one of the best authentic japanese I’ve ever had. Farmington has multiple options for Japanese food these days – and they all fill their own unique niche, but Sakaya is absolutely the most *authentic* of those options. Ordering online can perhaps be a little confusing to newcomers, but they rotate about 2-3 selections per day from a larger menu for guests to choose from.

Amazing place! Flavors are so unique and distinct, I wasn’t even sure if I liked them at first. I do love trying new experiences and I’m glad I kept exploring the flavors because this is my new favorite spot. I also love hearing about how some of the dishes I fall in love with are special to the chef in some way and that he chose to share them with us.
