My boyfriend and I ate here twice and we loved it both times. The best part was the 2 for 1 drinks but we have been to many sushi places and the quality of this place was matched with the quality of an expensive restaurant but the prices were so reasonable. I love the unique combinations this restaurant has and I especially like the cute little designs the artist draws on the plates with sauce before the waiter or waitress delivers the food to our table. We will definitely eat here again.

No pomp and circumstance here. Just really good, Americanized sushi. My challenge here is reading the tons of special rolls and remembering which ones compliment, rather than largely duplicated themselves and which ones I want to order. Next time, I’m gonna humble myself and take a pen and pad with me to do some written analysis.

The best place to go for sushi in New Tampa! Food is tasty, service is good, and it’s not pricy! I always go with friends for a late night meal, and we’ve never had a problem.

Landed in Tampa and took a chance on this place from Uber Eats. Needless to say the other reviews about quality food and having taste went right out the window with our order. I have NEVER seen spicy tuna look like crusted tan colored dry paste. And it’s tasted like it too. It was like a dry stovetop stuffing! Horrid! The shumai and dumplings had mystery meat that was supposed to be shrimp. Could immediately tell it wasn’t shrimp. The “spring” rolls were more like old dry well aged rolls. I don’t leave reviews normally but this needed to be documented. Had to throw away $70 worth of food! Thankfully Uber gave a full refund.

I rate this a 2.7. I searched for places to eat around 9:30 pm. Most of the places were closing at 10 pm. Why was this Sushi place opened so late, until 2 am. Found out USF (University) is nearby, there’s a gym next door, as well. Most of the traffic was take out, uber eats, and walk ins etc. So the take out is their main business, and since stays open till late they make the food mighty fast which if you know sushi it is prepared very meticulously, attention to detail, and presentation are extremely important. The service by Jody was above and beyond , and she can work at any establishment, and she made the experience the difference in the review. She was knowledgeable, attentive, personable, courteous, she earned a 40% tip that is how good she was. On to the food experience. The miso soup hardly had any tofu or greens. The salad looked old, as if it had been out in the open for a while. The dumplings looked and tasted refried. The Mango Sake was more sweet than alcohol. Ordered shrimp/vegetable tempura there was no crispness to them. The edemame was warm, and fresh. The spicy Kani salad which is made of some kind of crunch, krab meat, cucumber, spicy mayo, and eel sauce on top, was juicy, and tasty. Also ordered the shrimp dumpling, shu mai. It was soft/tender. Ordered a variety of specialty, and regular sushi rolls, such as #14,19,45 in the menu, as well as others. We were a party of 5, and we were disappointed with the texture of the rolls. Some of us experienced stomach cramps, probably the frying oil. The rice was mushy, sticky. There was no preparation. It was a rush job. Even tried some sort of dessert. The owner was focused on take out period. The place was dingy, and dark. No outside lighting other than the big sign. This review should’ve been a 1 if not for the server who did an excellent job. I am not coming back.

Went to Sake house to have a night out with some friends. The food was absolutely delicious. We got the food so fast. The only issue was that the waitress never came back after we ordered our food. Not to ask if we needed to refresh drinks or anything. We hung out for quite so time and it seemed they may have been really busy for delivery orders. When they came back with our checks, the items were wrong and I was charged for alcohol. I explain to the waitress that I don’t drink and won’t be paying for some random sake, and she took the alcohol off reflecting the correct balance. I’d definitely come back. Very cute interior. Very cute patio area and the food was fantastic.

It really pains me to say all this. But Sake house was really one of my most favourite restaurants in Tampa. I don’t even know how many hundreds of times I’ve came here. Because their sushi was good and the price was reasonable.

Food is great if you plan to wait for it all day. Should really should consider getting a new waitress. The one they had kept saying she been a waitress for years, but was lost it what she was doing. Food great, services sucks!!
