We love this sushi spot. We haven’t had the Hibachi, but the sushi is delicious, fresh, and well made. Their pork ramen is also very good.

Yesterday I met my Mom and Nana for lunch at Hibachi. They have never eaten there and it has been a long time since I had and we wanted something different! Well it wasn’t the best, the food was on the cold side like it had been out for a while, the service was okay and on the napkin box it says they can add an extra charge on the bill for wasted food I think 2$ I have never seen that so thought that interesting. I will say they did have good ice cream and white rice, also they have 2 turtles in the little water fountain!

Outside first impression No parking, 4 spaces and one handicap. First impression inside was good, hostess very friendly and decor was on point. sat alone at the sushi bar. Restaurant was not that busy since school was out. Sushi combination came with soup and a very basic salad. When they brought out the salad it was not cut up at all it was literally 1/4 of a wedge of lettuce. The waitress /manager did not speak English very well so it was extremely hard explaining my problem with the salad. They finally took it back to the kitchen and brought me out a chopped salad. Miso soup was incredible. Presentation was beautiful (pictured below). Sushi quality was good however I still believe that there are better sushi restaurants around athens. Pricing was definitely on the high end.

Went with a group. It was really good. Another group was served fast. A couple had to wait for a bit until another couple came in. They were not busy. Our chef was entertaining. The parking was very difficult. We looped 3 times to get a space. Our handicapped friend left after we did and made it there and parked before us. He eagle-eyed us a spot and we made it…lol.

We had a party of 5 on a game day in October. The wait for the hibachi tables was a lot longer, but for a regular table, we waited less than 10 minutes!

The food is great and I love Sakura but I couldn’t give 5 starts due to the chef cooking all the meats (including chicken) at the same time. Putting us at risk for cross contamination. I would still come back though <3

I’ve been looking for a good new sushi place in Athens and I think I’ve found it- Sakura’s sushi is very good. Presentation is excellent (especially the volcano roll, which comes out literally on fire!) and the taste is high quality and fresh. The offerings are pretty standard sushi fare, but the portions are good for the price. The calamari tempura is an excellent appetizer as well, though I wish you got more on the plate.

We have come here several times. The food is amazing and we have always been pleased with our chefs. I haven’t tried the sushi, but it looks very nice when other people order. Tonight we went for my birthday, and although they were quite busy, the service was lacking in my opinion. The food was still wonderful and we will be back next time.
