Was surprised the teppanyaki portion of the restaurant was closed. Ordered the combo chicken, shrimp, and beef anyway as they cooked in the back and bought to the table. At other Teppanyaki restaurants, the sauce is separate from the meats, but in this case, it was not. For me the sauces were overly drenched and the chicken was tough. However, John the waiter was on top of our orders and making sure we were taken care of. I would like to come back once the Teppanyaki portion of the restaurant is open as I am sure the experience would be a more positive experience.

John’s service was 6 STARS! He is hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. His recommendations were delicious! He was juggling 4 tables and acknowledged all guests, thanking them for having patience. The food is really good, and when you have John as your server, the food tastes that much better!! Ask him to make you a Green Tea Arnold Palmer!

We’ve frequented this restaurant for many years. Our last visit, will be the last. Although the food preparation and presentation lived up to what we became so familiar with and appreciated, the gentleness and ambiance was gone. The Hibachi grill was closed – no chef. They used the room as a storage room, which you see as soon as you enter the front door. Not one Japanese server. Our waiter was much more suited to a BBQ joint. Too bad.

Love this place. I miss the hibachi dining room but usually get carryout anyway. The food is always delicious. The service can’t get any more professional and efficient. One of my favorite Hagerstown restaurants.

VERY disappointed! We were so excited to have a Hibachi dinner only to find out, they don’t do that anymore at this location. I was guaranteed that the food was to be cooked the same as when cooked in front of us. WRONG! The shrimp, lobster & filet were covered in a brown sauce (oyster maybe, not sure) and the fried rice was only rice, no egg no onion, just colored rice. We covered everything in a yum yum sauce just to make it barnacle. Wasted $65.. The waitress was great though. Will not be going back again.
