Saky Japanese is a hidden gem outside of the Fort Jackson Marion gate. I was skeptical about this place, looking in from the outside and smelling inside. The smell either came from the bathroom or the floor from mopping using the same dirty water. However, the food was excellent and inexpensive. Services is excellent and friendly. I recommend this place if you are looking for either Japanese or a quick bit, especially if you work on base for a short drive or walk.

I’ve eaten here and to go on multiple occasions! The take out is so fast, and is always ready to pick up. My girlfriend also loves this place, as well as a couple of my close friends. The food is always fresh and flavorful. Couldn’t have had it any better! I love this place. If I could give it more stars I would respectfully.

Great sushi restaurant choice while in Columbia SC. It’s just right outside the Fort Jackson base. A very small restaurant which made me feel like I am back in Japan. As soon as we walked in, Sarah welcomed us with her friendly smile. She was very attentive and fast. The food was excellent and truly enjoyed every bite of’em It is a must try if you’re visiting Fort Jackson SC.

Absolutely the freshest sushi I have had in Columbia. Absolutely will be here at least once a week. I tell everyone about this place. Picture of my last order. Salmon sashimi, spicy salmon, and salmon roll. You also get a small miso soup and a little veggie appetizer which is a little different every time. I LOVE THIS PLACE.

Finally! I’ve been looking for a sushi place like this since I moved to Columbia! Most sushi places around here are all for show and lack authenticity. Saky gave me everything I needed, a quiet spot with yummy, skillfully made sushi that took me to Japan. Looking forward to our next visit!

Love this place so much we’ve become weekly regulars! The food is fresh and delicious. The employees are extremely friendly and hardworking. Sara knows us by name and brings our drinks to the table as we’re sitting down! Can’t say enough great things about this hidden gem.

Excellent sushi. It was my first time going and my girlfriend was very enthusiastic, as it’s one of her favorite restaurants, so we got a number of starters. The tempura plate was delicious and crispy. The gyoza had a great flavor profile and the sauce really completed it. Even the egglplant salad was wonderful which took me by surprise, it was sweet and a little smoky in flavor. The edamame was a bit boring to be honest, but hey that’s edamame for you. The sushi rolls we got were the birthday roll and the yami yami roll. Both were amazing. The birthday roll, which we ordered spicy rather than mild, had just the right amount of heat. The yami yami roll is deep fried, so it was very crispy on the outside and the creamy avocado inside made it great. Overall a great experience.
