Went to Sal’s to get dinner with my family. As we sat and waited for service, we noticed there were only two servers for the entire restaurant. They were doing their best, but the server and the hostess got into a disagreement. Next thing we know, the owner is badgering our waitress in front of the whole restaurant. So we listened to them argue.

Arrived on a Thursday around 3:45. Only had 1 waitress and she was under 21. She said I had to wait until 4 to get any alcohol since she couldn’t serve it to me…which I understood. About 5 minutes later a man and his son came in. She seated them, gave them menus and left at 4 pm. She never took their order! It was unbelievable to me that she did this..and no, she did not tell anyone else there that the table needed their order taken.

Just stick with Pizza here. This isn’t a restaurant to escape to find peace and quiet after work. Honestly my salad was nothing but some pieces of large cut lettuce and dressing with a some shreds of carrots. Tasted no better than a salad from Aldi.

Food was pretty good. Did not care for the minestrone so much. Penne was pretty good. Kids enjoyed their meals. There was only one employee for the entire dining room, and counter for call-ins. It isn’t her fault so I still tipped her well for managing things the best she could, but the restaurant needs to have more help there as there were many tables waiting a long time.

My last experience here did it for me. Our server who was the manger and also the owners wife. When I got home I noticed my bank account had been double charged and also an additional charge from the restaurant that I did not authorize. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager, AKA owners wife. She told me, and I quote “ I’m married to the owner, I don’t need to steal your money”. If she would have just listened to me, I might still be a patron and not writing this review. Horrible service and management.

Our team continued our pizza discovery journey. Since yours truly recently moved to Plainfield ,IN we gathered the team to try a local Italian restaurant’s pizza. Sal’s has been around for many years in Brownsburg, Plainfield and Mooresville Indiana. We decided on the cheese and Sal’s Special pizzas, 16″ each and both wood fired. Our team of four comments included: ” I liked the crust but could use some salt , more tomato sauce and cheese. (cheese pizza)”; The Sal’s Special had adequate amount of toppings of pepperoni, black olives, green pepper , onion. Sausage is a topping also but was scant in amount. “The texture of the Special is good including the crust and toppings however there is not a cohesive flavor profile. The individual toppings of course are tasted but not as a complimentary blend. The sauce is scant and doesn’t seem to bind it all together”. Another team
