It began with Marisols Tacos approximately 28 years ago. Just an ordinary taco truck in El Monte, CA. 15 years later Tacos del Chino Taco Shop is born from the original founder El Chino. With almost 20 years to date, El Chino still seen often at the original shop making tacos, and sometimes even at my shop here in Santa Ana, given the opportunity and potential for growth for the business I bring the name and great food to Orange County, now under direct ownership of Sal’s Tacos a la Mexicana with the same recipe with added plates. 5 years later our roots are growing in Orange County thanks to all you diverse customers that continue to support us.

Sal’s is a local treasure serving authentic, high quality Mexican food. The staff is wonderful and everything in their menu is delicious! I love this place and come here every chance I get! It is a great value for the money. Everything is really fresh and tasty! They make their own agua frescas and they are always delicious. I usually order a bowl unless I’m really hungry, in which case I will order a plate. The plate is a better value than three tacos and you get more food.

Wow, the food! 5 out of 5 stars, this place provides some of the best Mexican food that I have tried in my life. Quality ingredients and meat that you can really taste. Employees were all very kind and friendly! Very clean restrooms available for customers. Dine in experience was excellent, beautiful artwork all around the walls, loved the mexican tradition vibe in here! Wonderful time spent inside eating their delicious food. It was our first time here and the food is legit. It came out fresh , hot and with real flavours of Mexico. Very high quality ingredients using only usda prime for the beef, we’ve found our local spot,. The service was also excellent the server walked us through the memo. I love the food, and have eaten here for a long time. The food is great. My only issue is, I most often order takeout, and they consistently get my order wrong. I order 6 tacos, I get 4. I order chicken tacos, I get carnitas tacos. I order nachos, when I bring it home, it’s just a to-go container of chips with nothing on them. I know that I should check my order before I bring it home, but sometimes I’m in a hurry, and sometimes I don’t want to un-wrap everything and open it all up to make sure it’s right. All the time, I bring the order home, then it’s wrong, and now I have to drive back. When it happens, the manager there always does her best to make it right – she’s very apologetic, she’ll throw in an extra item or two. But I just wish they had a little better process to review the order and make sure everything is right before they package it up and give it to me.

Amazing Tacos! Their shrimp taco and sauce was so mouth watering, soft and crunchy. The chicken meat is super fresh and seasoned, the steak tacos are really good. The carrots and jalapenos are fresh. Their salsa has a nice kick to it, deff a must for spice lovers. I haven’t tried anything else but this is now my place to come to on Tuesdays for $1 tacos. The militias was amazing!!!!!
