Basically I’m there every week, probably twice a week. Food is amazing, local and sophisticated. Pastries and coffee are also great. Best place in town for breakfast and lunch… oh and they make their own beer 🙂

First time trying this place – it’s adorable and I’m excited to come back to try some of the other facets (cocktails/pastries/etc). Had the pork belly banh mi which was sublime; only marred by the fact that the outer edges of the otherwise fantastic pork were kinda over-charred. It was still a completely delicious non-traditional take on the theme.

You know what I love about Saltbox Kitchen? The food comes from a credible source and you can feel confident that it’s all cooked with clean ingredients. Too much restaurant food is cooked with oils and GMO ingredients that we don’t have enough research on. This place has it’s own farm, raises its own meat, and grows its own herbs/vegetables. For someone with a sensitive stomach, I can always come here and get a great meal without the worry of getting a stomachache. Plus, they brew their own beer too!

I wanted to like this place. They’re trying to be a brewery, a wine bar, a Cafe and a bakery, all in a tiny, crowded spot. We went for lunch. Nothing stood out as particularly good for the price. They gave me a different beer than I ordered, but it was so crowded, I didn’t go through the hassle of sending it back. I ordered a capaccino, which by definition should be equal parts espresso, foam and milk. They didn’t even offer the correct size cups. A chicken salad sandwich with fries was $24.

This place has style. As soon as you walk in there is something in the air where you know good things are going to happen.

This place has great food and friendly service. The burger was cooked perfect and everything else was great too! Highly recommended, even at first glance when the prices seemed high.

This was a delightful little find. Combination micro brewery and farm to table restaurant. Not a big place but everything was very good. We started with soft shell crab with salad and Maine mussels. The crab was fantastic and the salad was a nice complement, with an unusually large head of asparagus (which I would have expected to be tough- but was delicate and delicious). The mussels and broth were seafood sweet, and makes you wish for a loaf of bread and a bigger belly. For entrees, I had deep dive scallops which were seared to perfection, preserving both the flavor and tenderness of the meat, over green beans. My partner had the strawberry pistachio salad with a deep fried goat cheese, which made for a filling dinner. The craft brews were interesting and satisfying. We tried 5 between us, at the suggestions of our waitress, who was knowledgeable and which worked well.

Not sure how this place has such high reviews. Fried chicken sandwich was slimy dark meat and soggy bun. House beer could not be ordered because they had no clean glasses. Very pricey, poorly plated dishes (burger or chicken sandwich served with a side of 3 pickle slices…) and slow service. Don’t let the “Farm to table” facade fool you. Stay away.

This was a lucky find while in the area for an appointment. Very busy at lunchtime, to the extent the staff had trouble keeping the tables cleaned as they were vacated. I think you are supposed to buss your own table (we did) though it’s not clear and if so, many visitors don’t realize that. We had to clear the junk off a table to take a seat. If that’s the expectation, a few signs would help alert visitors.
