The sandwich was sloppy and it was upside down.Also not fresh. Made my tummy ache instantly like a laxatives. The Philly cheese is awful.onions tastes like soap. The fries always cold and never crispy.This how the fries came that’s 3 dif fry. What happened to Sammies? I remember enjoying the food. I grew up on the North West side by Portage Pk. and we used to ride our bikes to Sammies little stand to buy “Gravy Bread” for a quarter. It was French bread dipped in the beef juice it was cheap and we loved it. But when your talking HOT DOGS I might be partial but Sammie’s WINS HANDS DOWN! Other joints might have hand cut fries but Sammie’s adds an extra condiment that as far as I know no one else adds, no it’s NOT KETCHUP. Along with the usual mustard, onions, bright green relish, tomatoes, pickle, sport peppers and celery salt on a poppy seed bun Sammie’s adds fresh cucumbers and believe me it makes all the difference in the world. Sammie’s is no longer in the city and that’s fine cause neither am I so they have several locations that I can still enjoy their dogs at. Give one a try, you’ll see the difference. Best fast(er) food in Lake County. I love their gyro, its my favorite! The fries are done perfectly and are fresh cut, not sitting under some heat lamp. A go-to place for a quick and delicious bite!

We always get the gyros here. It’s very good! I especially like their fried mushrooms! Their Italian sub sandwich is pretty big and a good value, although it was pretty soggy the last time I had one. My wife usually get’s the polish which she recommends.
