It’s not much here. We got the two meat dinner, the BBQ sauce tasted like water down ketchup, the potatoe salad tasted like a bag of sugar. Don’t get me started on green beans it was flavorless.

Awesome barbecue, even better service! Staff treats you like family and great atmosphere. A true BBQ joint. If you’re ever in Austin don’t leave this place off your list of places to visit.

Stopped by Sam’s for a late lunch on my way out of Austin and I’m so glad I did. Super tender brisket, really friendly employees, and I heard from every person in there about the daiquiris being amazing.

Had a great time. David and I talked for quite a long time, and enjoyed each other’s stories. Friendly place, great food. They have Brisket, mutton, chicken, sausages, pork and many sides. Brisket was great and the mutton was a nice new item I haven’t had in a while. I will be back and recommend it. Wish I had more time to try the sausage and pork, but another time. Yams and potato salad were good too. Don’t let the outside change your mind it is worth the price and they are great people!!

My favorite BBQ in Austin. Part of it is the ambiance and the history, knowing you’re supporting a business that has been there for generations and has so far stood the test against gentrification. But above all, the food is GOOD. Their slogan doesn’t lie, you don’t need teeth to eat their meat. The brisket is really great, as is everything else. If you don’t wanna trek out to Lockhart for your BBQ, go here instead!

If i could give negative stars I would. I love supporting fellow black businesses but this experience was terrible. I believe in the past the food was good but clearly not 3 weeks ago when i went. The ribs were boiled and had no seasoning i added sauce and that didn’t help. The yams were straight out the can. That old school Bruce Canned yams from the store, nothing homemade about those yams. The potato salad was definitely store bought. The chicken was dry too. I paid about $20 for a double meet combo. I will not be back

you literally need no teeth to eat their meat. Sam’s is definitely one of the most authentic, and oldest, BBQ restaurants in the town. Totally worth every cent you pay for their food. This place has a lot of character and history, and nice vibe. Free parking available. Try it once and you’ll be regular here.

Sam’s BBQ is a well known Iconic establishment for over 40+ years in Austin. It’s the hole in the wall with an ole time a atmosphere, when they fire the pit up the aroma draws neighbors for blocks.

I agree they should use gloves when serving the food. And practice cleanliness. The ribs were good but 2 more shakes and it would’ve been salty. The sausage were good but the green beans and baked beans were definitely out of a can but spruced up. Looked better than it taste.
