THEY DO TAKE CREDIT CARDS even though their sign says cash only. They do charge a .75cent fee for any card used. This was my first time visiting and I took my father who is a Vietnam veteran. This old classic burger hop was right up his alley. We got a large peanut butter and peach milkshake and they were both delicious. The burgers were much larger than I thought they would be. I had the chili cheeseburger, onion rings, and the peach milkshake. All were excellent and fresh! My children enjoyed their crunchy fresh french fries and all their burgers. The triple cheeseburger is huge! The only thing that we probably would not order again is the grilled cheese and ham and the grilled cheese. I recommend getting any of their other burgers. I might try their chicken sandwich next time. Worth a try and very nostalgic.

This place has been around for what seems like forever. I remember saving my lunch money and going here during my high school years. The only “issue” I can say I have is they are cash only, but even then, they’re affordable and so worth it. To this day, I take the kids and we chow down. Between the hot dog, the burger, and a BLT, with each of us having our own fries and we get drinks from the little store across the street, yumm!!! I love this place! Great job staff. Keep it up.

I took my wife here for the first time when we were dating nearly 30 years ago and have been coming back since. Burgers are great, crinkle cut fries – made to order so it’s always hot and fresh.

Always a great meal and good service. This place is tucked back away from the street a little but the sign is visible from either direction. The menu is simple and typical of a classic burger joint. Prices are very reasonable. Highly reccomend this place.

He makes the best burgers and banana shakes ever.. I’ve been visiting Sam’s for years, since he first started with Rita’s on the corner of Old Auburn and Auburn Ave in Citrus Heights. Wow, 20 to 30 years ago. Time flies, dang. We’re moving out of California soon. So, we’ve been there 5 times so far in a month, just can’t get tired of this place. We will miss his burgers and banana shakes, big time.

Got a Large Cheese Burger and Large Fries to test out this place. The Burger was a picnic burger which tastes bland. The Fries were just alright. No refills at all. Run by a poor Asian family and they were the best thing about the place.
