You’ve been here before…You remember… It’s the place your so happy to see after a long night on the town. It’s the only place that was open at 2 am on a Wednesday night. It’s the place Anthony Bourdain famously declared Top 3 in the world on his show, The Layover. This place makes you forget AND brings you back to reality. It feels like home.

He is survived by his wife Marwa and 3 sons, Fadi, Hani, and Emad. Mike gave his life to the North Beach and his legacy will always live through the neighborhood. Sam’s will always be there to remind everyone of his wisdom and his grace.

It’s a small joint but no frills burger place. The burgers were freshly cooked and on charcoal. Soooooo good. We also ordered onion rings which were perfectly cooked & seasoned. So yummy!

In town for the Dead & Co. show and had to stop at Sam’s Pizza & Burgers. We immediately had seats at the counter and ordered two Bourdain specials. Our meals came in minutes. Incredibly juicy, well made burgers with ample toppings. The fries were delicious, too. Such a wonderful small counter style diner. I highly recommend for a delicious bite!

One of the best burger joints still in San Fran after so long. Honestly, walked in by a local recommendation and boy to my surprise it was delicious . All i wanted was a burger and some old skul fries with a drink but got a beer instead. One of the best places i have gone to in a long time and will come visit when i come back. It is open late and it fills you up and takes card and cash

Out day drinking with the wife and needed an appetizer before the next bar and dinner. Seen the Tony Bourdain quote/ sign/ ‘plug’ in the window for years and finally got a chance to try out the place.

This is a small, hole-in-the-wall restaurant, with an old diner feel. The interior is a bit dated and worn-down, but has its own charm. The walls are covered with various currencies brought from the visitors to this spot over the years, adding to the overall atmosphere.

I had the Double Cheeseburger Special with fries and orange Fanta. It was prepared at the grill at the storefront window. There was a counter with some tables and chairs along the wall behind and outside.

This is one of those hole in the wall type of places that you can easily miss if you’re not looking for it. Absolutely one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had in my life! Very chill and laid back place. Highly highly recommend if you’re in the area!
