Great place! Used to visit the original restaurant in Springfield, some 40 years ago (which is under new ownership now). We had a large group for today’s visit. Staff was accommodating, informative and friendly. No frills restaurant. Food was okay (not as flavorful as I remember from the original restaurant). Will I return in the future, when in town? Absolutely!

I ordered the Italian sub. Regret it I did. I should have sent it back. I guess you need to have what comes on your items on the menu, when we asked the server, she had no idea. Now I don’t think its asking much to know what your selling or even go ask another employee. I still ate part of it, paid and left a decent tip.

We arrived and seated ourselves. We remained seated for 15-20 minutes and were not greeted by staff not offering a menu nor our drink choice. Two separate tables were seated and greated after we entered. We were totally ignored by staff.

The meatball sandwiches are delicious. I’ve been to Saint Louis. And they do not know how to make a meatball sandwich there. The staff is very friendly and the pizzas are delicious. If you’ve never been to this restaurant you have to stop by for lunch or dinner bring the whole family.
