We enjoyed a tasty and uncrowded lunch at Samurai this afternoon. I believe our chef’s name was Emmanuel and Kay was our server. Both were fantastic, fun, and on point. The chef used a perfect amount of butter and oil. Not too much, and not too little. The sauce was good, but not necessary to enjoy the flavor of the food.

Beautiful Hibachi restaurant! I’ve been to a handful over the years, but this place stands out, in terms of its ambiance.

We went on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant wasn’t busy. We were seated immediately, the table was dirty, had to ask the waitress to clean the table. She did apologize for the table being obviously dirty and cleaned it with no problem. Three of us had the salad before my meal which was very watery like soaked with water. One person got the soup and had no complaints. I ordered the salmon and chicken. The salmon was seasoned really well but the chicken and sautéed vegetables was kind of bland. I liked our chef he was very entertaining and engaging. It was an okay experience.

Good place to take your date! Food is tasty but pricey. Could barely hear what chef was saying and servers get confused with who orders what ♀️.

This place used to be a favorite of mine. Not so much anymore. Our table of 6 was charged 18% gratuity, not by choice, and we received the worst service. The tea was soured and we sent it back for a soda instead. The teas were not taken off the bill. The service was slow, lots of eye rolling when asking for anything, and had to beg for refills. Our bill was overcharged. The sushi itself has gone DOWN HILL. You get better at H‑E‑B Grocers than you do here. The steak bento box was over cooked, the rice was extremely greasy, and just flat out disgusting. Definitely AVOID the water, unless you like a very stale tap flavor. Sad to say I won’t be coming back here again. Worst $178 meal, forced tip, sh£t service, and definitely needs a check on cleanliness.

Our overall experience was just ok. We’ve been to a few Hibachi grills so we are aware of the process. We made reservations but our table wasn’t ready when we got there, no big deal BUT there was no communication or apology. Once seated our waiter was lacking in basic knowledge and information about the menu. Our drinks took the longest to arrive and we had to ask other servers to find our server to get even a water refill.

Poor service. The chef was good, but the waiter not so much. We had asked for the bill to be given to us in 15 minutes. 30 minutes later, waiter wasn’t anywhere to be seen. I had to ask the hostess to get the waiter. Another 15 minutes before we were finally able to sign and leave. Food wasn’t worth the wait. Go to Uptown, Midtown, or Montrose if you want good food and service.

Came here for our traditional hibachi grill experience with friends from Houston. We had a table for ourselves (group of 4 adults and 4 kids). The food was great, most of us had either scallops, shrimp or steak with fried rice. I missed that traditional shrimp sauce but it seems like other places are not offering that any more either. Our cook was funny and made the kids look in amazement. The service was attentive and fast.

We usually love this place but tonight was a disaster. We didn’t get drinks or apps for 30 mins and our “chef” didn’t come out until we spoke to the manager and that was 75 mins later. Our kids were starving yet excited but the chef under delivered. ZERO show or interaction, that we watched on other tables and they forgot to sing happy birthday. Manager was nice about it and gave us 10% off but honestly a disaster and disappointment. 1.5 hours it took to get a chef and then it lacked. Our waiter was nice but over whelmed and by no means was it a busy Monday!
