This was my first time going there. I am glad we went in. We were greeted by a really sweet lady who had a great smile. We ordered the lemon..something roll off of the customer creations posted on the wall. It was very yummy!! We also ordered a sushi box 1. Everything we had was fresh and tasty. We took it to go as we were at an event across the street. It was ready pretty quick. Prices were really good for the portions we got. We were both very happy. The restaurant was very clean. We will be going back to try other items and recommending Samurai to others. Samurai is great!!

I’ve been eating at Samurai for two decades and have never been disappointed. While not a large, flashy restaurant, it more than makes up for it in flavor. I’ve always felt like Samurai provides the best value in Monterey County for sushi. The rolls aren’t overpriced. It can get busy at lunch and dinnertime, so be prepared to wait if you aren’t a bit early. I personally love their baked mussels. My favorite rolls are Melissa, Monterey, Diablo, and Oh Shrimp!

They have really good food and it is filling. The soft shell crab is good. The sushi seems fresh. A bit on the higher price but you get what you pay for in the portioning. Definitely will return for more.
