The Avo Salmon and AB Crunchy rolls are so good! The samurai mama ramen is a bit too fatty for my taste, no option to add chicken as a topping, only pork, but still tasty.

Atmosphere was great; aged dash tofu and mama mojito were extremely delicious; but sushi tacos were VERY mid. I got uni, salmon avocado, and toro. Uni was pretty fresh but slightly bitter; salmon was very ordinary and boarderline mushy/not fresh; toro was very disappointing – it was the driest toro I have had. Sushi rice was pretty good but could use a tad less vinegar. Service was pretty nice. I did not try their famous udon noodles, so this review is mostly based on sushi tacos. All in all, I would recommend here for casual Japanese food but not for their fish/sushi quality.

Love this place. Great food, really cool interior. It’s a bit small and can move slow but the food is worth it. Great sushi, really enjoyed the “taco set” which is just a variety of hand rolls but the all the flavors were on point. Even the vegetable rolls had great flavor and texture, some of the best vegetable rolls I’ve had. An easy place to do vegan/vegetarian with the vegetable rolls, miso soup, vegetable gyoza, etc. Their gyoza specifically are fantastic – cooked in cast iron and served with homemade sauces. Highly recommend.

Don’t understand how this place isn’t always packed. Kind staff, fresh fish, and all kinds of excellent udon. Reasonable prices too! This is an absolute gem in Williamsburg!!

Samurai Mama is a place that we “happened upon,” drawn in by the unique store front and subsequently delighted by its dim lighting and rustic Japanese decor. This place gets an A+ for ambiance.

The food was so good that it’s 5 hours later and we can’t stop talking about our dinner bc the taste is still in our mouths! Two of us had the sushi tacos and are raving about them. The dumplings were delish. Surprisingly, my favorite dish was the pickled vegetables – best pickled vegetables I’ve ever had and beautifully presented. The only dish I wouldn’t have again would be the kabocha – wasn’t as well thought out as the other dishes. The spare ribs were tasty but didn’t have enough meat on them. Def trying the Ramen next time. It looked amazing! And the service was fantastic. We will be back!

Unique and magical experience here! The layout of the restaurant is so different. Walk in and there’s the communal table room. Walk through the long narrow kitchen and you arrive at the individual tables room. Or make a short right and there’s a bar/ counter area. Or a little further on the right is another room with a table and there’s a tree in the corner too.

Great great food and ambiance, they even let us bring our dog inside, staff was very friendly, the gyozas are to die for, but honestly everything was delicious, we also had the ramen full on fat which was incredible you can really taste all the different flavors in one spoon. A must try from Williamsburg
