Good service and nice, mellow atmosphere. For a Michelin starred place, the vibe is far from stuffy. The staff is nice and polite but we had trouble hearing them over the noisy restaurant. The food is great quality but nothing ground breaking for us, with the mandu being the biggest surprise and highlight of the meal. Good experience but I don’t know if it’s worth the hype.

Definitely the best high-end Korean food you can get in the US!! All of the appetizers and main dishes we ordered besides the BBQ were absolutely delicious. Definitely get the pajeon (so crispy and unique with the mountain yam on top), clam doenjangjigae, pear dongchimi, grilled corn, and the corn ice cream (arguably the best part of the meal). The service was also impeccably good—our waitress was so kind and thoughtful in the whole experience of our meal.

Honestly, we found the overall dining experience mediocre in terms of the food, although service was fine. With the prix fixe menu selection focused on the BBQ meat – we left disappointed. However, we realize some might truly enjoy Kalbi ribs with more fat than actual protein, and if you are one of those to keep your cardiologist fully-employed, you might relish it here. The beef neck filet was more palatable, but diminutive in portion compared to the highly fat-marbled ribs (honestly, we couldn’t eat much of the ribs, they were so grease-laden). See the photo of the rib cross-section, taken home for leftovers in an effort to trim the excess fat.

The food and experience was amazing. This was one of the best korean bbq I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious, but my favorites were the yukhwe, corn, beef tongue and galbi. The highlight was the beef tongue. The service was also very friendly and attentive.

My favorite restaurant in SF/bay area. High quality at good value in a casual upscale setting. Love sitting at the counter seating. Only been in as a 2 top, but a 4 top seems ideal to taste more food. The set menu with options is great value, but have ordered a la carte as well. Beef tongue and the soft serves are a must order.

Incredible experience. Got the reservation 30 days in advance. Went with the house menu and added on the honey butter corn. Big portions and fantastic food, left absolutely stuffed. Felt like the dishes just kept coming. Perfect for a special occasion.

After days of refreshing Tock, we finally snagged a 5pm reservation for 4 at San Ho Won on a Sunday. If you elect the house menu, the online reservation will ask for you to pay in advance with tax and tip (20% in April 2023) included. Comes out to about $135 per person, which, in our opinion, was worth every penny.

Walking in you see and smell the difference from other Korean bbq restaurants. I love the authenticity of using charcoal. Every item I tried was amazing. Stand outs: the pancake and the dumplings.
