I LOVE this place. I stopped in the other day, and boy, was I surprised! I had the roast beef, which was just like Granny used to make! The portion size was huge, and the sides were great. I had dessert (blueberry short cake), and it was also fabulous. The service was incredible and everyone there was super-friendly. This is my kind of place, and will be yours too if you stop by like I did!

What a Gem! Had Meatloaf and sampler plate. Baked beans, green beans, pimento cheese, chicken salad, and quiche. All delicious and hot! It’s a tea room with southern food. Love this place. Quick service and very friendly staff.

I love Chattanooga Mercantile. Love Sanctuary Restaurant. Shop there multiple times a month and love the restaurant. The only reason Chattanooga Mercantile gets 4 stars instead of 5 is the ladies bathroom in the store section is vile, disgusting and in serious need of cleaning, painting an upgrades in general. I dread having to use it when I’m there. The owner told me it was “too expensive” to update. A couple of gallons of KILZ paint is under $120. Clorox on the floors is $1.00 and putting a 6×6 piece of carpet or vinyl is about $30.00. I spend over $200 at almost every visit to the store and eating lunch, so do others and it’s a busy place. Even taking 2% from every sale for just one day would pay for the entire thing. It’s a great store otherwise – lots of great items. I always find something great each time I go.

It was like Torel was waiting on us. As we walked up, he opened the door for us with a warm greeting. The atmosphere was such a surprise: a restaurant inside an antique room! Everyone seemed so happy to see us! We commented on the table surrounded by about 8-10 GIANT green chairs, and, though we only had a party of three, were invited to sit there. What fun! The servers, Gabby and Cindy seemed genuinely excited to “have company” and also proud of the menu items. (And rightfully so!) The food was nostalgically delicious: classic Sunday supper, Granny’s-style. We enjoyed the perfect meatloaf, farm-fresh collards, and sweet melon. The biscuits, served as the complementary appetitizer, were heavenly. Everything wonderful about the past from the antiques to the hospitality and food – highest recommendation! We’ll come back! If you haven’t checked this place out, you’re missing out!

This place caters to men just as much as women. I went in and got healthy sized portions of the meat and three sides and every single bite I took was like eating food that my great grandmother had prepared the meal! It was phenomenal.

We ordered a pimento cheese croissant and a chicken salad croissant. It took 45 minutes and the pimento cheese was terribly disappointing. The reason for one star is the chicken salad was delicious. I like the vibe and idea but it’s a little dirty and slow. I really hate leaving not so good reviews.

It’s a beautiful restaurant, southern tea room. Great tea room favorites and wonderful southern home style meat and 3 veg. Lots of food to choose from.
