If you haven’t been here yet you’re missing out. A real gem in La Jolla Shores. We enjoyed every bite and sip. Oysters were fresh. I tried all four and preferred their house oyster. Crispy shrimp is a must. Entrees we had were the scallops (perfect) and the trout, which was the best I’ve had in ages. And get this: the waiter talked us into the wood fired carrots and they were amazing. Who knew carrots could be so good. We had a peach pie for desert. We’ll be back to try everything on the menu. Service was excellent.

Had an amazing experience at Sandpiper for dinner. Washington Oysters and the crispy shrimp to start; the bullwhip hot sauce was different, but a great pairing to add some kick to them.

One of those restaurants that focuses on flavor and experience over bulk sustenance. The meal was an utter joy to the pallet. The textures and tastes were perfection. The service was polite and attentive, and the check was understandably heavy.

An outstanding meal from start to finish. We had the wood-baked focaccia, mozzarella sticks, Caesar salad, pork chop, baby back ribs, and s’mores brownie sundae. They were all delicious. Great service and a nice atmosphere — we sat on their patio with heat lamps. I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m in the area.

Overall a pretty decent experience. Perhaps we were expecting too much but this is a pretty low key restaurant and the food while very tasty was way too oily. Their fish came basically in a pool of olive oil. The cabbage was well cooked, but logistically difficult to eat as it was difficult to break apart.

We had a fantastic meal here. So much so, that we came back again the next night. The truly standout dish that we got was the broccoli with black garlic toum and egg. The fries were also delicious, and we liked the meatballs and the red sauce was very tasty. Everyone loved the brussel sprouts including our kiddo. The only thing I didn’t love was the chicken wings. The flavor was very good but they weren’t crispy and that’s a deal breaker for me. The wait staff was friendly and attentive and we liked the heaters out on the covered patio. We definitely plan to go back!

Kind of off the beaten path not quite into downtown La Jolla. Ambiance is nice and the food was flavorful and well prepared, in particular the seafood. The tri-tip was an interesting fusion with Asian flavors including the sauce and kimchi, so they do the non seafood quite well too.

Location:Good, Parking:Okay, Service: Decent, Happy Hour Menu: Yes, Patio Dining:yes, Overall: This was a first time try and I did like happy hour menu. The fish tacos had a decent taste but they both seemed a bit over fried. The mozzarella cheese sticks were also a touch over fried but still had a nice taste. The Service did check on us but I still had to ask for refills. Would I go back? Yes I would like to try other menu choices. 3.5 stars…

Went for happy hour. Clean, welcoming, and attentive. The seats were only half full. A table had a baby stroller parked by the table; another had a couple kids; so you could do that if you are looking for a place to bring the family. A parking is lot right next to it. There are patio seating and open air indoor seats.
