The serve was average but after our food arrived we werenot checked on or offered refills and I had hot sauce. The food was not great. We were disappointed. I ordered a torta and got a chicken sandwich. The ceviche was a tostada with shrimp and pico de gallo.

Washburn has a real gem in this place. We’ve lived in Dallas and Minneapolis, and Santa Leyenda is among the best Mexican restaurants we’ve been to. We got the Molcajete Rey Misterio, spinach quesadilla, tostada de ceviche, and tacos al pastor, with churros for dessert. Everything was phenomenal. Very flavorful, cooked and seasoned to perfection. None of what we ordered was spicy hot, but the table had hot sauce that had my hot-sauce-obsessed partner’s approval. The restaurant has a good atmosphere, too. We went in the early afternoon. Lots of windows for light. There was lively music playing but it wasn’t loud. Everything was very clean and the booths were spacious and comfy. The walls are painted in rich jewel tones like teal, orange, and golden yellow, and there are fun humongous paintings of luchadors on the walls. My mother lives in Washburn and loves this restaurant, and we’ll definitely make a point to stop here again next time we visit. Maybe even before we leave town, haha.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. In a 4 day timeframe, we visited this restaurant twice. We could not get enough of the food.

First, I will say the food and service were excellent. What I did not like is how hot the plates are when they come out. Someone could get burnt by them. They are crazy hot!!

Amazing! We stumbled upon this cute restaurant along the street and we came back twice! Authentic and incredibly tasty food. The Agua de Horchata is such a pleasant drink. Would highly recommend!

Excellent Taco Hut in Washburn! Check out their Barilla Cheesy Beef Tacos with Consome when they have it! Evolved from the legendary El Dorado’s every option is a hit. Chile Relleno is one of my favorites, never forget the cheese dip!

We have eaten alot of Mexican food in CO and CA and this place is legit! For starters the salsa is so tasty! I had a fabulous chile relleno, which is one of my deciding factors of a good Mexican restaurant. Also, my husband’s carne asada was super flavorful! Totally recommend if you are in Washburn!

I hate to be a negative Nelly, but I feel somehow called upon to weigh in with our experience at this restaurant, which was so different from the other reviewers’. We ordered a vegetable quesadilla and a carne asada burrito. The cheese in the quesadilla was that movie-theater-style nacho “cheese” sauce that has the texture of melted plastic and the flavor of, well, salt. The burrito was stuffed with a lot of meat, but the meat tasted weird. The sauce on the burrito was just a watery canned tomato concoction with no Mexican food flavors to it. The only reason for the two stars instead of one is that the service and atmosphere are both great. Very nice people running their tails off on a busy night. Just wish the food was as good as the service and the luchador art.

Seriously, this is the best restaurant if you have kids take them to this restaurant. The staff was absolutely amazing. They were booming with business. Yes, we had to wait a little while to get a table but it was well worth it. In the end I got the shrimp fajita with steak and chicken. It was absolutely amazing. I’m sorry I didn’t take a picture. It disappeared so fast cuz it was so good, We also got chicken enchiladas which we also did not get a picture of because they were so good they just disappeared. I’m not saying that the picture I uploaded wasn’t good. It’s just we at least took a picture of her cheese quesadilla before it disappeared. The kids meal was fantastic. Ate everything down to the last crumb on their plates which is very rare with kids under 10. The atmosphere was fantastic. I loved all the luchador decorations the music was fantastic but the waiters were phenomenal and I’m so sorry. I don’t remember their names but they were so awesome. Please keep it up. Definitely worth the stop The only thing that I would say was a downside is that the restaurant was small, but that’s also kind of the charm of the place. I hope in the future they can expand a little more to accommodate a few more people. Maybe adding like a patio or something outside but wonderful food, wonderful staff and even the chef was wearing a mask while we were there. It was so entertaining. Mad props. Thank you!
