I have been two times to the Chantilly location, however there are several to choose from. The pastrami with sour kraut was excellent. The menu has something for everyone. Save room for dessert – carrot cake and red velvet. Great atmosphere – I was catching up with a friend I hadn’t seen in awhile and we took our time enjoying great food and a great space. Staff are efficient and take time to answer questions about the menu. Prices are on par with other similar type places to eat.

This place was the highest rated within walking distance of my hotel. Walking in there was plenty of seating but while waiting for my order at least a dozen people came in for online/ phone orders. The lady who took my order was nice but to the point and I waited about 30 minutes for a pizza and a steak and cheese sandwich. That steak and cheese was probably the best one I’ve ever tried, is come back here just for that one item. The pizza was their version of supreme and was mediocre but even okay pizza is good pizza.

This place is clean and has lots of options. My only complaint is the staff don’t seem to notice you when you come in. We came in twice and were never greeted. If you’re not a local and ordering in house, it’s confusing. There’s a big tv that has an arrow that says “order here” and the arrow points to the drink machine. The only reason we figured it out was because we saw a notepad at the end of the counter. This can be easily remedied by someone on staff saying they will take your order at the end of the counter when you’re ready. It’s within walking distance of our hotel and has so many snack and drink options, which is great. The Italian sandwich is great. The calzones are small. The kids Mac and cheese is just Kraft to go that they put in a new cup.

If you want a large selection of freshly made sandwiches, you will definitely be happy at Santini’s. I go especially for the liverwurst and I am never disappointed. It’s not fine dining, but if you want a good sandwich, you will be glad you went to Santini’s!

I love their food, but they use Grub Hub, who do a terrible job. Last night, I was super busy and though I didn’t want to, I ordered and paid the fee and tip I had to pay for Grub Hub. The delivery guy called me and said the gate to my apartment complex was broken, which it wasn’t. I told him to go around the corner to the main entrance. He said “that takes too long. Come get it.” So, I had to stop what I was doing, get in my car and go get my hood on the other side of the complex in the rain. If I wanted to do all that I would have not paid for delivery and picked it up myself. That’s problem number one. Secondly, I did not get my fries. Stop using Grub Hub and get the orders right!

We ordered two calzones this evening (Santini Calzone, Calzone de Casa), for takeout. Arrived home, and when we opened both boxes, both calzones had a strong smell like a musty old rag with mildew, and looked dry, as if they’d been under a heat lamp for some time. Unacceptable, and we did not even eat them out of disgust. I have eaten at Santini’s in Chantilly, and always had a good experience with the food quality, so I’m not sure what is going on at the Ashburn location. Extremely disappointing, and we unfortunately no longer trust the quality of the food, to eat there again.
