The name has changed (Boatright’s)but nothing else has best food in town if you come through Alma Georgia you really need to stop it’s inside former Bacon County High School.

Buffet was good. Fried chicken, baked chicken, chicken and rice, salad fixings, mac & cheese, potato and pasta salads, and more with desserts. Was unusual being in an old school building that isn’t used for school anymore. Friendly staff. Glad we stopped here on our way through Alma, Georgia. Highly recommend.

Our 55th class reunion was made very special with delicious steak, shrimp, baked potato, green beans, salad, pudding, and at least four cakes. It was great to dine and visit with classmates.

One of my favorite places! I could write a paragraph about each item. We had baked pork chops, fried chicken, and beef stew. The corn is my favorite! The string beans are great. They also had churned ice cream and fresh strawberries. They had other things on the menu, too.

Nicest people. Excellent service. Plain old good home country cooking! Little hard to find if you are unfamiliar with the area but… Coming into Alma GA from Waycross area on Hwy US 1/23, just coming into town look for the old high school on the left — reimagined as Sarah’s and some other community projects. $12 per person buffet including drink, salad, dessert!

The potatoe salad is awesome, deserts are fabulous, and cube steak and gravy was delicious. The veggies are delicious, too! You gotta go there one sunday. It’s in an old high school cafeteria, so dont let the building fool you from the good food inside!

Just what the name says: Country! A long, long bar in an old high school lunchroom and loaded with country cooking. If you leave hungry, it is totally your fault! The old lunchroom tables and chairs are still in use so you can bring the whole family and sit around and eat and visit like you were at home. Or bring the whole gang from work and take a wonderful break from the office. Or meet in the back dining room and continue to conduct business while you eat. You cannot beat the price, food, or service. Still the same old high school restrooms but they are clean and stocked now. Plenty of easily-accessible parking in front of the school. Enter in the front door and past the front office just like in the school days. Continue down the hallway a couple of turns, through the double doors, pay as you enter, and dive in!
