Chef Tom Cutrone opened Savinos in early April 2007 in the Cushing Square section of Belmont, MA. The decor is warm shades of the Tuscan country side with an edge of upscale city design to complement the dining experience. We also feature live jazz on Thursday nights, starting at 8:00pm.

This place unfortunately was a big letdown. I will say the people at the restaurant were extremely nice and pleasant so at least that was good. The food we purchased had no flavor to it and was not good at all. My tuna and scallops with pasta was a let down unfortunately. The sauce was very thin and watery and the tuna and pasta had no flavor at all. The scallops were great though. My girlfriend got the chicken with risotto and again the risotto was really lacking flavor. Both of our dishes had a weird taste almost like you could taste the pan they were cooked in. Unfortunately had to add a good amount of salt to both dishes to be able to tolerate it.

Heard that the food here is very good- agreed, but that the service is slow. I think that’s resolved. My wife and I just finished a fantastic, tasty meal, and the waitress has been very attentive and pleasant. We’ll come back again. (Yes, it’s a little pricey, but we’re finding lately that even a decent lunch somewhere can cost $50 or so with tip!)

Nice establishment but the food is just ok for the price. We went there on a Monday, which is pasta special night. Basically, it is a 3 course meal with pasta being the main dish. You get the option of soup or salad, choice of pasta dish, and choice of dessert. We got the pasta special for the kids and we got meat entrees ourselves. I got the lamb chops which was quite good. My wife had the flat iron steak which unfortunately was very tough. It was cooked perfectly medium rare but super chewy and difficult to cut. The pasta was fine. The kids are not picky. I don’t think they are fresh pasta but that’s fine. The asparagus soup was good and the chocolate cake was quite tasty. Overall, the service was great, staff was friendly, and food was generally good. However, at the price point offered here, I would opt for other Italian restaurants such as Fiorellas in Newton.

My husband and I went for a date night here and had a wonderful time! The food was really special…from scratch and fresh. We ordered the stuffed Swiss chard, short ribs and flank steak. The best part was the feeling that we were in a neighborhood restaurant. Friendly staff, chef/owner came to say goodbye and even the other guests were welcoming!

I’ve been here for dinner before and it was good. Today I came for lunch but it was outstanding! Service was fast, it’s not very crowded and it was outstanding value. Up until now I think it’s been the best kept secret for lunch anywhere in Belmont! I just couldn’t keep it to myself. I had the panini of the day and it was really tasty. They don’t have a children’s menu but for 12 bucks I got the penny bolognese for my son and he loved it! I’m coming again soon!

Needed a place to stop for a to-go order and found this place nearby. I was weary of the 4.3 stars, but went with it. They closed within a half hour of me ordering and they still took my order kindly over the phone. When I arrived, the host was very sweet and friendly while I waited another few minutes. To my surprise, I opened the take out and it was packaged so neatly and with such care/effort, which doesn’t come often with take out. Food was piping hot and fresh– it was actually quite amazing!! Will definitely come by here again
