We rarely go down to Albuquerque and had decided to go out for a nice dinner while there we were able to meet up with some friends who live in Santa Fe. We ended up having a Fantastic time the food was delicious, the wait staff was attentive but not overly so, and while we definitely stayed late we were never made to feel as though we had overstayed our welcome. Three of us got cocktails and they were delicious we could taste the signature notes in each and none of them were too sweet. The Menu was not overwhelmingly large but we were all able to get different things and thoroughly enjoyed them. There were multiple Vegetarian options which is always something that I look for in a good restaurant as one of my dining companions is a Vegetarian and there were plenty of options with meat as well. I ended up getting the Salmon with risotto and went with the chef’s recommendation on the Salmons cook and I had no regrets, by the time we were done we were way to full for dessert so ended up taking some to go and the tiramisu was perfect even the next day. I would rate this restaurant a 10 out of 10 if that was an option as it is I will settle for a 5 out of 5 rating.

I made a reservation for dinner, I was greeted by a friendly hostess and was quickly shown to my table. The waitress was helpful, she explained the menu and the specials and I was sold on the tomato bisque and the lamb chops. She helped me decide between a Pinot Noir and a Northern Italian red. Also food for thought, on Wednesdays bottles of wine under $100 are half off. They have an extensive wine menu and provide a great selection. The tomato bisque was very hearty with the touch of bacon and the edible flower was a nice touch. The lightly buttered bread paired well with it too. The lamb chops were served medium rare with a creamy buttery sauce and pomegranate on top. It was exquisite Chef David also made it to the table and checked on dinner. He was delightful I enjoyed my experience here and will definitely come back!

Rogue Diner
Straight up: our server is the reason why this restaurant is getting four stars instead of three. The server saved the hostesses poor attitude plus it is a little pricey. I’m so glad I get to experience all the weaknesses from restaurants. It allows me to let future guests know what to expect. I reserved a table and came in early. I don’t mind waiting for my table What I do mind is when it’s past my reservation time and the hostess is seating walk ins and other guests. Plumb forgot about us. I had to remind the hostess I was here.

To be fair we planned to eat at geckos next door. Their kitchen was closed so we picked up to-go from Scalo next door to bring back to the bar. Inflation-smation… this was NOT 25$ worth of food. It was fine but what a rip off. Two pastas for 55 plus tip. These are so sad for that price.

I have never had a bad meal here. Every meal is always wonderful, delicious and high quality. The wait staff are attentive and on point. The gelato or ice cream are delicious end to a meal. They also have this Carmel cream dessert which I constantly crave ‘Pana cotta.’ The duck is wonderful. The salmon is tender. And when they have pasta specials they are always yummy. Thank you Scalo for always treating me to a good time every time we come in.

SF Beal
This place is perfect for a quiet drink or to listen to their frequent live music (jazz, when we went). The patio doesn’t have the hustle, but it can be a little warm, of course. The trees usually keep it pretty shady. Recommend!

First time at this establishment, 48th anniversary. Both of our dishes were excellent, and the waiter “Zack” was especially attentive. We’ve already recommended this restaurant to people we know around the city. The only drawback was the room acoustics. There were several groups of diners, who were especially loud, and the ceiling in the dining room is very high. Conversations were bouncing around the dining room, like an echo chamber. Would suggest installing acoustical sound baffles. We would still dine there, because good restaurants, excellent food, and outstanding service are very hard to find these days.

Not the best food, was excited to try some good Italian food, since we had lived in Italy for 6+ years. We had heard so many good things about this restaurant. Sadly the food was not great. I will say maybe it was due to being really busy, as we heard our waiter apologize over and over again to other tables for the long wait. Once we received our food, my salmon was dry and you could tell it had been sitting a while to be served to our table. My husband and I both chose the high end entrees and sadly his beef was not that great as the vegetable was over smoked, leaving it to taste super burnt. We gave the chocolate flan cake a go and sadly it was super dry and nothing special. All in all our bill came to almost $140. We have eaten at several Italian places throughout our travels, this one did not make the top. Service was good, no complaints, just the food was not good. For the price I would have expected better.
