We are more of a restaurant than bar. We open at 11am for food service and take our last order around 6:50pm. Prefer small groups but up to 8. Larger groups need to call first to check availability with a time slot of 2-3:30pm. We are 1 waitress and 1 cook.

We visited Carlyle for work and were told to go here and try the Paulsenburger. It did not disappoint! Absolutely delicious (ps you’ll need a fork)! The owners (server & cook) are wonderful, and the place is neat and clean with charming decor. I definitely recommend trying this place if you’re in the area.

The place looked neat, the first thing that you will notice is a giant sign.saying cash only. The waitress/bartender reminded us 3 times of that as she told us that our group of 6 was the maximum number of people that they could serve at 1 time. Kinda lackadaisical attitude towards us as customers and I got the idea that we were bothering her by coming in. We got our food a piece at a time, with explanation that they have a small frier and couldn’t do everything at the same time. The food was good the atmosphere was dull with the attitude, I may try it again sometime later, maybe things will improve……we will see.

Just a FYI to go to an ATM before going to Schleicher’s. They have a sign outside the door that they do not accept credit cards. We only had $20 cash and we knew lunch and tea would be over that. Unfortunately we had to leave. But we will try again someday when we have more cash.

Burgers are huge! Laid back atmosphere, enjoyed watching the St Louis Cardinal game while we were there. Food takes a while but it’s made from scratch. Relaxed and enjoyed their selection of local craft beers.

Always great food. Burgers are my favorite made from fresh, never frozen meat. Large portion sizes. Relaxing atmosphere with booths, tables and bar seating. Dress up or come straight from the lake.
