We are a 3rd generation family owned barbecue restaurant serving central Texas style barbecue. We slow smoke our briskets 18-20 hours with a lot of love and care over post oak wood. Smoked turkey, chicken, sausage, pulled pork and spare ribs are also favorites on the menu. Our sides are typical BBQ style beans, potato salad, green beans, macaroni and cheese. Another customer favorite is our poblano cream corn! We have lunch specials during the week and additional menu item specials as well! Schmidt BBQ was one of the stops on the TX BBQ Trail…a long established family business. I did a “To-Go” order and went with the three meat platter with brisket, ribs, and turkey along with the Jalapeño Mac & Cheese and Au Gratin Potatoes. Overall a good plate, the brisket was tender but a little dry. The ribs were good and the rub had nice flavor, and the turkey was very moist and tender and went well with their BBQ sauce. The sides for me were just OK and I would opt for something else next time. Service was great and the ladies took great care of me.

Excellent BBQ, location and service! The brisket, Kruez sausage, mac & cheese, scalloped potatoes, poblano creamed corn were all extremely flavorful. We wrapped our meal sharing delicious banana pudding and pecan pie – from the famous Texas Pie Co. in Kyle. I’m not sure why it closes at 6PM on a weeknight given how good the food was and it’s a nice large restaurant in a high traffic area at Hill Country Galleria. This was our first time here and we’ll definitely be back. I would encourage others to support this business!

The staff was amazing, They recommended the best sides, and I was delighted by the experience. The only reason why the atmosphere was ranked lower is because I went at an off time. So there was not really any atmosphere. I will be back, though, and I recommend them highly for BBQ
