Our server acted like she was being held hostage to work there. We had to personally get up to get water refills anytime we wanted it. (I know right now you’re thinking it must have been busy calm down, fella .) We were the second table there and the other table was right next to ours, and get this she had to pass our table to get to them but was still more worried about that table cause they had 5 people and we only had 3. All food had no flavor from the burgers to their B.L.T. we got an appetizer with fries that came with meat and cheese on it, no flavor. We asked to order fried pickles, and the waitress, when she got back to the kitchen window looked at us, rolled her eyes, and the cooks and manager looked at us like we asked them to create a flying donky. We could tell cause we were 4 steps away from the kitchen and still couldn’t get service. If someone tells me they are going there and invites me and will pay for me and get me drinks, I still won’t go. Presentation will fool you.

We went into Scholars and Scoundrels on a whim. I’m glad we did. It is definitely a great place to grab a drink. The drinks are priced great and are delicious. The only thing I could possibly complain about is there only being one type of Mezcal. The one they serve is not to my liking. We were so busy having a good time I didn’t even take pics of most of the drinks. We will definitely be going back and trying some food because the menu looked good.

The food is good, favorites but with a twist. The items on the menu are straight forward- just tacos- no sides – just wings – no sides – they are extra. The service was quick. It has a rustic feel with affitional high table tops. The music was too loud for the space. For late night weekends possibly a DJ – they had a semi permanent stand.

Decline Heard
Part 2 of Date night was an impromptu stop at Scholars and Scoundrels the Sugarland location. It was kind of late but the atmosphere was still great. The items on the menu and the food I saw other patrons eating looked amazing however we did not order any food hence no food review. However we did have drinks and I can honestly say that both bartenders were amazing and the drinks were very good and very reasonably priced. We’ll definitely be going back to try the food. My only complaint is the first table we sat at was underneath the air conditioning vent and there was condensation leaking from it, we changed table and enjoyed the remainder of our night.

So here’s my rundown, tried 4 different appetizers… The food was meh. Definitely enjoyed the fried zucchini and I don’t like veggies, so that was nice; feel fried mashed potato balls were okay, but lacked anything to make them special; the kitchen sink nachos were actually kind of disappointing- they literally threw everything at them, which made them lack a particular characteristic, 3 big parts of nachos the chips, the newest and the cheese, they baked the chips but fell flat on the other 2; also has the “crack and cheese”, not at all addictive. All that being said, great drink prices, great atmosphere- I felt very relaxed here, staff was very fast and friendly and seemed relaxed as well, which actually speaks volumes of good things about management. I will definitely be back again, and bring family and friends as I want to try some entrees and some of their extensive mixed drinks.

Great hamburgers, professional but personable staff. It was my first time here and I enjoyed the multiple televisions to watch sports, and the music was fantastic. Great place to meet up with friends, after work connections, or just stop in for a bite and a beer.

This is a cool little spot to hang out and grab a bite. The fried zucchini and the kitchen sink nachos are yummy appetizers. The drinks are good and the service is great. Very chill atmosphere. They also have live music sometimes. Good spot to have a drink and watch a sports game. Outside patio is cute too.

I’ve been here quite a few times and most of the times, service is pretty ok. The last time it wasn’t, BUT they were short staffed and the bartender more than made up for it! Food is always great and good drinks! Atmosphere is usually really energetic as well.
