This is some excellent pizza. We loved their crispy, thin crust and red sauce. Their house dressing, Creamy Romano, is a must try.

Great food! Service was good even when they got busy. We started with the bruschetta which was delicious. The between the 3 of us, we tried the cavatelli, ravioli and chicken parmigiana. We definitely enjoyed this dinner! This was our first time at Scornovacca’s. We stopped after picking up my Marine son from the airport. We can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu!

Classic Italian fair from a long standing staple in Des Moines. I went for lunch at 11 during the week.

The homemade Canoli was like bitting into a flavor cloud!! I even won a free large pizza for spinning their 50yr Anniversary Prize Wheel!

I took a group of six here & it was decided by the group that the pizza was very good albeit a little pricey, it had plenty of toppings & excellent flavors. The pasta was less of a hit. The price on the pasta dishes wasn’t bad but the dishes were a little bland for my taste. The service was excellent, our waitress was friendly, accurate, & very timely with refills & getting food out to us. Overall it was a positive but expensive experience.

While I did enjoy the onion rings and my wife enjoyed her chicken Parmesan. I found that the ravioli casserole really lacked flavor and just didn’t taste that good. It almost tasted store-bought and didn’t really have any distinct flavor to it.

I haven’t ordered a sausage grinder since Orlondo’s closed but the one I just had at Scornovacca’s was super good and so were the onion rings (even the 1/2 I took home and reheated was delicious). Also got an all meat pizza to go and I’m pretty picky about my pizza. The one I reheated in a covered skillet at home was the very best EVER. The crust was excellent and all the meat and mushrooms were top notch with just the right amount of cheese. Picked up their bakery cookies (yum). I do recommend!!!

Had the Chicken Parmesan. Chicken was what appeared to be chopped up chicken strips. “Garlic bread” was a plain piece of toast. “Spaghetti” was fettuccini noodles with bland tomato paste sauce. Meal was ready on time and plenty of open parking. Would not order again.

When we arrived there was only one other table. In fact the entire time we got there no other people came in except for carry out orders. The wait staff was very friendly and provided a lot of details about the food. There are several items that are made fresh there. However I found the food to be very mediocre. Highlight was the side of fettuccine Alfredo. We may be back to try their pizza.
